Suruth & Lee win Singapore Inv. Challenge
The weekend just gone, saw the 2007 running of the Singapore Invitational Challenge, held at the East Coast Park Raceway. The racing was divided into 2 classes with the vast majority of racers running 1/10th scale, however the 1/8th scale class had plenty of top drivers and in qualifying the fastest of those was Mugen driver Meen Vejrak, from Thailand, that took the TQ for this class, while the 1/10th TQ went to Kyosho racer Kelvin Yong. In the 1/8th scale final the pole man Meen ran into some problems that dropped him down the order, leaving Serpent racer Suruth to take the win by 7 laps from Mugen driver Nelson Lee in 2nd, while another Mugen, that of Tay Wui Kiat, was 3rd. Things were a bit closer in the 1/10th scale final, but again there was problems for the pole sitter, Kelvin Yong ending his race in 5th, while Kyosho race Philip Lee took the win by less than a lap from Meen Vejrak in 2nd and Charlee Phutiyotin in 3rd.
