Louth RCCC Schumacher Winter Series Rd6 – Report

The sixth and final round of the Schumacher Winter Series presented by the Louth Radio Control Car Club took place over the last weekend. A new venue and new carpet offering improved grip, would give the drivers something new to get to grips with. The contact A30 club tyres were of choice for this meeting, handling the improved grip well. In 13.5T touring Chris Lovely would set the early pace take three TQ runs with his Xray, Alex Brocklebank would take the final round of qualifying to place himself into second with his Schumacher. Mitch Fiddling would make it two Schumachers in the top 3 with consistent rounds, Jason Lovely would show well on his return after a three month lay off in 4th with his aging 2019 Xray chassis. Joseph Cocking would sit into 5th with his a Yokomo, ahead Callum Chapman and Daniel Burks with their Xray cars.

Hampus Berg sweeps Indoor Buggy Masters

The final round of the Swedish Indoor Buggy Masters series was held at the HB Racing/Team Orion racetrack this past weekend. Going into the final round teammates David Ronnefalk and Hampus Berg were both tie on points in the 2WD class while the 4WD title was already taken by Hampus. The race was held in a Reedy-style format and going into the final heat Hampus had scored five wins while David had three wins on his belt so far. With the best four rounds to count and the best round being the tie-breaker, David was on a very good pace in his last heat and Hampus started to look nervous. During the leg, David would jump short in a double which caused a quick visit on the roof, however the forecast said it was still possible for him to set the fastest round for the day. However, in the end Hampus managed to keep the fastest round for the day but the final round had no influence in the overall result.

Hagberg & Neumann crowned 1/12th scale Euro Champs

The 2020 edition of the EFRA European 1/12th scale On-road Championships was held at the Racing Arena Limburg indoor track in Sittard, The Netherlands over the weekend. The field of drivers was a bit smaller than expected, possibly because of the IFMAR Worlds being held recently. However, the level of competition was really high, with tough fights in both the stock and modified classes. This was further fuelled by a really technical track layout that was laid out on a brand new ETS carpet. In the Modified class it was Alexander Hagberg who would set the early pace, however he had a tough start to qualifying, as a couple of mistakes set him back in Q1. Things worked out a lot better in Q2, as a change in tyre prep made his car work better from the start of the run. Alex was able to TQ all rounds onwards to award him the top qualifying spot for the triple A-finals on the Sunday.

Kapicka & Mara win at Czech Masters Series Rd6

This past weekend saw the running of round 6 of the Czech Masters Series in Prague. The March edition of the popular series saw the attendance of almost 100 drivers that were faced with a fast track layout and some new obstacles. In the 2WD Buggy class it was SWorkz’s Jiri Mara with the overall TQ after the three rounds of qualifying. Some close fights between Honza Kapicka (Kyosho)and Jiri Mara made the A-main finals pretty dramatic. Ultimately Honza took A1 and A3 for a maiden overall victory in the series while Jiri Mara had to settle for the runner-up spot. The top 3 result was completed by Marcel Dostál (Xray). Over in the 4WD Buggy class it was again Jiri Mara with the overall TQ as Vaclav Strupek (Xray) came in 2nd on the grid. When the dust had settled after the A-mains, it was still Jiri on the top spot with Vaclav in 2nd. Tomas Kapicka (Kyosho) would complete the top 3 result.

MRC Longwy Winter Series Rd4 – Report

The fourth and final round of the 2019/20 MRC Longwy Winter Series was held last weekend, attracting 75 entires. While Florian Joos took the win in Touring Stock Expert, it was Yokomo’s Ronald Völker with the overall TQ in Touring Modified from Awesomatix privateer, Yannic Prümper in 2nd. After the triple A-main events the top 3 would remain unchanged with Ronald taking the win from Yannic in 2nd and Carl Friedrich Groessel, who rounded out the top 3.

Villalon wins at Andalusian EP On-road Champs Rd1

The opening round of the Andalusian Electric On-road Championship was held at the Circuito del CDAS track in Sevilla last weekend. Jorge Carmona and Juan Francisco Correa ended up tie on points after the Formula class qualifying, however it was Antonio Jesus Villalon who would walk away with the win after the A-mains from Eduardo Ameijide Abella on the runner-uo spot. Gonzalo Díez Silva, Raúl De Los Santos and Dani Rubio would round out the top 5 results.

Frederik Brolos Mikkelsen takes Danish Superstock title

The final round of the Danish Electric On-road Nationals was held in Tolls over the weekend. The Touring Superstock class saw Frederik Brolos Mikkelsen (Awesomatix) taking the overall TQ from Xray’s Casper Lund in 2nd and Soren Boy Holst (Gizmo) in 3rd. The opening A-main saw the top 3 crossing the finish line in starting order while A2 was won by Casper in front of Soren as Frederik scored a DNF. With a win in A3 Frederik then put things straight again as it allowed him to take the overall from Casper in 2nd and Soren in 3rd. With the win at round 3 Frederik made it a complete sweep in the championship with three TQs and wins and thus the overall title.
