Glenn Phuah wins at Singapore Nats

Xray are reporting on their site from the latest round of the 1/8th scale off road nationals in Singapore, which saw 53 buggy drivers and 15 truggy drivers line up for the start. Qualifying saw Chester Chua take the TQ spot for Xray while in the A-final he carried this pace through to lead a 4 way battle at the fron that included team mates Sam Cheng and Glenn Phuah as well as Hong Nor racer Ah M. Unfortunately Sam had his engine flame out which dropped him out of contention leaving Glenn Phuah to take the win for Xray ahead of Ah M in 2nd with pole man Chester Chua in 3rd.

Henrik Nilsson wins Rd2 Swedish Cup

Rd2 Swedish Cup

Last weekend saw the 2nd round of the Swedish Cup held at the off road track in Borås. Christoffer Svensson took the pole position for the final and lead the race early on, battling with round 1 winner Linus Thern, until he ran into problems leaving Svensson in a clear lead until he too ran into problems forcing him to retire at the 30 minute mark. This left sole Team Losi racer Henrik Nilsson to pick up the lead and with it the win ahead of Nordic Xray Challenge winner Robert Gustavsson, racing for Xray in 2nd and Mugen racer Mikael Palsson in 3rd.

Johnny Pastor wins 2007 TecRace

Last weekend the Adcaz club in Zaragoza played host to the 2007 TecRace, which was organised by importer TecroTec and supported by Team Magic and Team Orion. Spanish GP winner Darren Johnson, engine tuner Oscar Jansen and multiple World Champion Adrien Bertin were present for tech support and to give seminars, while Johnson was also competing at the event too and duly took put his Team Magic G4+ on the pole position for main final. Unfortunately the recent BRCA National winner ran into some problems in the final and fell over 20 laps down which allowed Xray NT1 racer Johnny Pastor to take the win by 1 lap in front of Team Magic racer Carlos Aguero with 3rd going to another Xray racer, Oscar Romero.

Martin Lissau takes Rd2 of Danish 200mm Nationals

Rd2 of Danish 200mm Nationals

This weekend saw the 2nd round of the Danish 200mm Nationals organised by the Næstved Model Racing Club, which attracted nearly 80 racers. Held under sunny conditions, the pole position fell to Jimmy Bigum, but he retired after 10 minutes leaving Xray racer Martin Lissau to take the win in convincing style by 5 laps in front of 2nd placed finisher Jesper Høyer. A close battle for the final podium spot saw Dennis Hassing and Bent Poulsen battle it out all race long with Dennis getting the 3rd spot by 6 seconds at the end of the 45 minutes.

Peterson & Neuspeed dominate the Hank Perry 240

We reported yesterday on the buggy result from the the long running Hank Perry 240, which is in its 21st year and is one of the largest races in the Northwest. Now Kyosho have been in contact to let us know that their team driver Taylor Peterson qualified third in truggy with his long wheelbase Kyosho ST-R, but quickly ran to the front and checked out, lapping the while field for a decisive win, Peterson also TQ’ed and won the 1/10 truck gas truck class. Kyosho team driver Marcus “Neuspeed” Anzivino TQ’ed and won 2WD mod buggy with an Ultima RB5 and took 3rd in 1/8 buggy with his Inferno 777 WC Edition.

Markus Eder wins Rd2 of Austrian Nats

Corally are reporting on their site on the 2nd round of the Austrian electric touring car Nationals which were held last weekend at TW-SM Traumhaft. The event was TQ’d and eventually won by Corally racer Markus Eder, racing the new RDX Phi, who finished ahead of Xray team driver Martin Hudy with another Xray, that of Vadav Strupek, in 3rd position.

King & Lutz win at JBRL Round 2

King & Lutz win at JBRL Round 2

Kyosho have once more been in contact to let us know that their team driver Cody King has won the 1/8 Buggy class at round 2 of the JBRL Nitro Series held at the Thunder Alley race track in Southern California. King’s Sirio-powered Inferno 777 WC was one of four Kyosho cars in the final – three powered by Sirio engines. King took top honors in the buggy class, with Kyosho cars taking three of the top four positions. Kyosho team driver Ryan Lutz dominated the 1/8 Truck class again, wheeling his Sirio-powered Kyosho ST-R to a second consecutive TQ and win in this series. This gives Lutz a perfect 104 points and a commanding lead with only 2 rounds in the books.

Gary Guest wins the Hank Perry 240

Our partners Neo Buggy have a report from the Hank Perry 240 one of America’s longest running races, which has been drawing competitors since 1986. The event reached its 21st year and has been held at the Spokane R/C Club’s beautiful facilty in Spokane, Washington since conception. With over 300 entries the race drew competitors from all over the Pacific Northwest, and some racers from Canada, to battle it out for the championship. The 1/8 Buggy class saw a wire to wire battle which eventually ended with Gary Guest piloting his Jammin X1-CR FTE to the win and finishing a close second was Jammin driver Ryan McCrery, with Kyosho factory driver Marcus Anzovino coming in third.
