Juan Carlos Canas TQs & wins Andalusian Champs Rd2

Round 2 of the Andalusian Championship was hosted by the Lebrija club this past weekend with over 40 drivers in attendance. Juan Carlos Canas (SWorkz/Reds Racing) was in control of things, taking the TQ and also the win in the main final from Bryan Baldo (Mugen/O.S.) on the runner-up spot. The early stages of the 45-minute A-main saw some mix-ups up front with Juan Carlos, Oscar Baldo and Bryan Baldo all leading at a certain point but about the eight minute mark things had settled and Juan Carlos took the lead and never looked back to take the win a lap in front of Brayn Baldo while Agustin Illanes (Mugen/Ultimate) came in 3rd overall.

Lee Setser sweeps JConcepts Super Cup Rd6

Round 6 of the JConcepts Super Cup was held at the Coral Springs RC track in Coral Springs, Florida. The event saw over 75 entries and in 2WD Mod Buggy it was Lee Setser with the overall TQ and win, some 14 seconds in front of Julien Oliveras. Jason Ruona came in 3rd overall, a further four seconds back to round out an all-Team-Associated top 3. Over in 4WD Mod Buggy it was again Lee Setser with the TQ and win as Julien Oliveras and Felix Law came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Alex Aroca wins at Spanish EP On-road Champs Rd1

Round 1 of the Spanish Electric On-road Championship was hosted by the ARCA club in Madrid last weekend in Touring Stock, Formula, and Tamiya Euro Stock Truck classes. In the Formula category it was Alex Aroca with the overall TQ after winning three of the five qualifying rounds. Miguel Fernandez came in 2nd, winning a single qualifier, as Jose Antonio De Lara came in 3rd on the grid, also TQing a single qualifying round. The triple A-mains saw a clean sweep of Alex who went on to win all three legs while Miguel Fernandez ended the day on the runner-up spot. The final podium spot was hard fought for with Jose Antonio De Lara, Francisco Macias and Pablo Martos all ending tie on points. Ultimately to was Jose Antonio who would hold the upper hand in the tie-breaker, snatching the final podium spot.

John Holmes wins at PDMCC Summer Series Rd1

The Pendle & District Model Car Club in the UK held round 1 of their PDMCC HB Racing Summer Series last weekend. In the single Nitro Buggy class it was SWorkz’s David Crompton with the overall TQ from fellow SWorkz driver, John Holmes in 2nd. After the single 22-minute A-main event however, it was John Holmes with the win some five laps in front of Kevin Kitchen in 2nd place. Darren Moffat (SWorkz) came in 3rd overall and in front of David Crompton. Phil Lodge (JQRacing) and John Huyton (Xray) completed the top 6 result.

Spencer Klein wins at Shaw’s Shout Out Series Rd4

Round 4 of the 2020 Shaw’s Shout Out Series was held at Shaw’s RC Shop in Ardmore, Oklahoma. In the premier Expert Nitro Buggy class it was Aaron Royston with the overall TQ from TJ Ball and Spencer Klein, the latter two having to go through the tie-breaker, as did 4th and 5th placed Cody Bell and Colby Purdy. The 30-minute A-main event then saw some mix-up up front round mid-race with Spencer eventually taking the lead that he would hold onto until the chequered flag with Cody Bell coming in 2nd, a lap down. Another lap down it was Colby Burdy in 3rd, a lap in front of TJ Ball. Jim Brown completed the top 5 result while TQ Aaron had to retire and only finished in 9th overall.

Ben Billing wins Ledbury Summer Series Rd1

The opening round of the 2020 Ledbury Summer Series was hosted by the Ledbury Model Car Club in the UK last weekend, attracting over 30 entries. In the single, mixed 1/8th Buggy class it was Ben Billing with the overall TQ and the HB Racing driver also brought home the win in the single 15-minute main event. Arron Knight came in 2nd overall, some 20 seconds behind as Carl O’Connor (Tekno RC) completed the top 3, only 0.039 seconds behind Arron.

Myron Kinnard wins USGT at ROAR Region 3 Champs

The 2020 ROAR Region 3 Championships here held at Apex RC Raceway in Murfreesboro, Tennessee this past weekend. The event drew racers from all over the region and beyond, including Ohio, Missouri, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama Illinois and Indiana. Friday was an all day practice day. New layout and new drivers all over made for some good runs and the field of drivers was a who is who of National Champions including Eric Anderson, Kemp Anderson, Bill Sydor, John Barron, Justin Lyons and others top drivers that were set to all go after top 3 podium spots. As qualifying got under way, Team Associated/Reedy’s Myron Kinnard was able to take the TQ in round one of USGT from Ohio’s hotshot Von Perry of Capricorn/Motiv. In round 2 Myron was able to make some minor adjustments to his USGT car that put him two seconds ahead of his current TQ and at 98.9%. For the final round of the event Myron was able to hold on to his TQ for the event in USGT, just one second over Perry.
