MOD/TLR 5th scale Championship – Report

The 2019 MOD/TLR 5th scale Championship series recently concluded after visiting a total of six separate tracks across the West Coast. Hosting tracks were Socal Nitro Raceway, Fear Farm, Delta RC, Good Ol Boys, CVR 2.0, and Wild West Raceway with the series not only spreading the awareness of 5th scale racing but also drawing in racers from all the regions to be able to experience different conditions, different layouts, and different challenges. In its first year the championship brought in a lot of new racers as well as helped improve each region’s knowledge of 5th scale in order to help cultivate club racing at a local level and help promote the hobby for the better. In 4WD Pro Buggy it was David John Orner, running a Matt Olson loaner car, with the overall championship in his maiden large scale season. Chris Higa and ADI’s own Josh Alton came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
