Lamberto Collari sweeps Italian ACI Sport Champs Rd3

The third round of the Italian ACI Sport IC Track Championships was held in Bologna this past weekend. In the 1/8th IC Track Expert class it was Infinity’s Lamberto Collari with the overall TQ and the multi-time World Champion would also come out on top after the 30-minute main final, leaving behind his Infinity teammates, Alberto Picco and Francesco Tironi in 2nd and 3rd respectively with all three finishing on the same lap.

Steven Cuypers wins German IC Track regional

The MC Ettlingen club in the South-West part of Germany held a qualifying round to the German IC Track Nationals this past weekend. In 1/8th IC Track class 1 it was Mugen driver Steven Cuypers with the overall TQ and also a pretty dominating win in the 30-minute A-main final. Five laps behind it was Serpent’s Jörg Wäldle on the runner-up spot as Infinity’s Oliver Mack, who had gearbox issues, came in 3rd, another two laps behind.

Meen Vejrak TQs & wins at East Summer Race

East RC of Jakarta, Indonesia held their 2019 East Summer Race this past weekend. With a fresh asphalt which resulted almost 1.5 seconds improvement of laptime, it was Meen Vejrak took the TQ spot in the Modified class, followed by Nicholas Lee and Bowie Ginting in 2nd and 3rd, while Charlee Phutiyotin rounded up the 4th and Muhammad Izzah secured 5th on the grid. The main final delivered some of interesting races as Meen took an easy win in A1 in front of Nicholas and Christian. Meen was pushed to retired in A2, allowing Nicholas to take the win in front of Bowie and Izzah. The deciding A3 went to Meen with a comfortable gap ahead of Nicholas. With this result Meen took the overall win followed by Nicholas and Bowie.

Jonathan Skidmore wins at Slough Summer Series Rd4

Last weekend’s round 4 of the Slough Summer Series was also the unofficial warm-up to the BRCA Rallycross Nationals that will be held later this year. The Nitro Buggy class saw a healthy 77 drivers entry and in the end it was Agama’s Joni Skidmore with the overall TQ and also the win in the 20-minute A-main event, leaving behind HB Racing’s Graham Alsop in 2nd. William Skidmore came in 3rd to round out the podium. Michael Lewis (Team Associated) in 4th and Kevin Brunsden (SWorkz) in 5th completed the top 5 results.

David Ronnefalk takes EFRA 4WD Buggy title

The 2019 EFRA 1/10th Electric Off-road European Championship was held at the Pinerolo track in Italy this past week. The 2WD portion of the event went in Davide Ongaro’s favor, who took the win from Michal Orlowski and Martin Bayer in 2nd and 3rd respectively. The 4WD part was then lead by Xray’s Daniel Kobbevik, who took the overall TQ from HB Racing’s Daniel Ronnefalk and Schumacher’s Jörn Neumann. In the opening A-main David Ronnefalk set sails to defend his 2018 European Championship title and in the end things would materialise as he took the title from Daniel Kobbevik in 2nd and Schumacher’s Michael Orlowski in 3rd. Team Associated’s Davide Ongaro came in 4th from AE teammate, Joona Haatanen. Xray’s Marco Baruffolo would end the event sitting in 6th, Jörn Neumann came in 7th, SWorkz’s Elliott Boots in 8th, Xray’s Martin Bayer in 9th and Jean Pierrick Sartel in 10th.

Coelho wraps up ETS title with 3rd consecutive win

Having clinched the overall title by securing the TQ in qualifying on Friday, today Bruno Coelho has wrapped up Season #12 of the Euro Touring Series with the third consecutive win of his successful campaign.  Taking A1 with ease, the Xray driver would just hold on to take A2 ahead of Ronald Volker, his main title rival reducing the gap over the closing laps to 3/10ths of a second.  Again a mistake from the no.2 starting Alexander Hagberg allowed Volker through to second place and now the duo will fight it out in A3 to decide who finishes runner-up at the Hudy Arena.

Coelho unchallenged in A1

Bruno Coelho took an unchallenged tone to tone win in a re-run of the opening A-Main at the Yokomo Euro Touring Series Season Finale in Slovakia this morning.  Originally scheduled for yesterday but stopped half way through when it started to rain and the rest of the day was cancelled, drivers faced an earlier than usual 08:30 but starting from the TQ it didn’t cause the newly crowned Champion any issues as he took the win over Ronald Volker by over 1-second.  For a time it looked like Coelho’s Xray team-mate Alexander Hagberg might make a race of A1 but the Swede came undone with the first of two mistakes at the same point on the track.  First allowing Volker through to second, the second error allowed Christopher Krapp through to complete the Top 3 with an incident on the last lap dropping Hagberg to 9th.

Weather interrupts finals at ETS Slovakia

After baking in the heat for the first two days of the event, today rain showers interrupted the running of the finals at the ETS Season Finale in Slovakia.  Having run all four rounds of qualifying in anticipation of rain arriving, the rain arrived overnight delaying the start and then when things did get underway subsequent showers meant further delays in getting through the timetable.  While getting the first round of A-Mains completed for most, during A1 of the Volante Modified the rain arrived caused it to be stopped with over 2-minutes to go after which the skies would open.  Despite efforts to dry the track, overcast conditions meant it was going to take too long to dry to be able to resume racing for the day and and at around 17:30 the call was made that racing would resume tomorrow.
