2019 XRS UK GP – Announcement

The 2019 XRS UK GP will be held on the 20th and 21st of July at the Cotswold Model Car Club in several electric and nitro classes. The event will see the running of Electric Touring Modified, 13.5T Boosted, Formula as well as FWD 17.5T classes besides 1/8th IC Track and a 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring racing. Ben Sterling wins at RCRA ACT State Titles

The Australian Canberra Off Road Model Car Club held the RCRA 2019 ACT State Titles last weekend. In the Nitro Buggy class Ben Sterling took the overall TQ from Simon Yeung and Ben would also bring home the win in the half hour long A-main, a lap in front of Kev Lewis. Simon Yeung had to settle for 3rd overall another lap down as Peter Seckold came in 4th overall.

RC-Lemans Series Rd3 – Report

The MCC Rhein Ahr club near Koblenz, Germany played host to round 3 of this year’s RC-Lemans Series this past weekend. The back-to-back race with round 2 saw Tim Altmann and Rainer Schad coming back in form with the two reigning champions taking the respective overall TQ’s in the LMP1 Modified and LMP2 Stock classes. In Modified Tim’s brother Kai came in 2nd from Timo Schad, Tobias Weist and Reinder Wilms. Over in Stock it was Kai Asmer, Sascha Lennartz, Jörn Bauer and Mathijs Hermens who were only separated by tenths of a second after the qualifiers, setting the stage for exciting A-main finals. In the fast LMP1 class it was Tim who dominated the show, however he was hotly contested by Timo who found a way past Kai at the start of A1. Mid-race Timo took profit of Tim who lost a bit of time while lapping backmarkers, however, shortly after Tim was back on top again. After a mishap of Timo it was Tobias who was promoted into 2nd place, while Tim up front was up and away and he would bring home the win in A1 from Tobias 2nd and Andreas Dick 3rd – the latter recovering from his P6 qualifying position.

Albert Croesen wins Electro Cup Nord

The Electro Cup Nord was held at the RC de Fivelcrossers in Appingedam, The Netherlands this past weekend. In the single 1/8th E-Buggy class it was Albert Croesen with a clean sweep in the qualifiers, leaving behind Michael Thamm on the 2 spot. The triple A-mains saw Albert taking wins in A1 and A2 for an early overall victory as Michael cemented his runner-up spot with a win in A3. In 3rd it was Maik Hagemann who rounded out the top 3 from Dirk Summe and Thomas Radau.

Joona Haatanen wins at Finnish Nitro Buggy Nats Rd2

Round 2 of the Finnish 1/8th Nitro Buggy Nationals was held t the RC Play dirt track in Jyväskylä. Team Associated’s Joona Haatanen took two of the three qualifying rounds for the overall from JQRacing’s Max Mört, who won the opening qualifier. In the 45-minute A-main event it was again Joona who would hold the upper hand, taking the win some two laps in front of Mugen’s Ari Heinonen while Max Mört came in 3rd, some eleven seconds short of Ari.

JJ Wang doubles at KO Propo Grand Prix

Steel City Raceway of Fontana, California played host to the 2019 KO Propo Grand Prix this past weekend. Held in various fuel and electric classes it was Mugen’s JJ Wang with the overall TQ and also the win in the 1/8th Open IC Track category. Veteran racer, Mike Swauger (Xray) came in 2nd, some two laps down on JJ as Infinity driver Christian Lopez rounded out the top 3, only a second behind Mike.

Coelho wins ETS Netherlands

Bruno Coelho has won ETS Netherlands for the second year in succession, the Xray driver taking maximum points at the Apeldoorn track to move a step closer to retaining his Modified title for the fourth season straight.  Securing the TQ, he claimed his third victory of the season with a win over Christopher Krapp in A2, the Yokomo driver looking for a time like he might force things to go to A3 after getting by Freddy Sudhoff in the opening laps.  At the end however Coelho, as in A1 last night, was able to maintain a save advantage at the front crossing the line 7/10th in front of Krapp with Sudhoff a further 1-second back, the Top 3 having quickly broke away from of the rest of the 11 car field with Yannic Prümper finishing a distant 4th.

Jessica Palsson crowned Swedish E-Buggy Champ

The 2019 Swedish E-Buggy Nationals were held on a purpose-built track in Malmö this past weekend. At the end of an eventful 10-minute A-main final it was former Kyosho driver, Jessica Palsson with the win from the HB Racing duo of David Ronnefalk in 2nd and Elias Johansson in 3rd. David Hassel and Micke Svensson would round out the top 5 results.
