JJ Wang doubles at KO Propo Grand Prix

Steel City Raceway of Fontana, California played host to the 2019 KO Propo Grand Prix this past weekend. Held in various fuel and electric classes it was Mugen’s JJ Wang with the overall TQ and also the win in the 1/8th Open IC Track category. Veteran racer, Mike Swauger (Xray) came in 2nd, some two laps down on JJ as Infinity driver Christian Lopez rounded out the top 3, only a second behind Mike.

Coelho wins ETS Netherlands

Bruno Coelho has won ETS Netherlands for the second year in succession, the Xray driver taking maximum points at the Apeldoorn track to move a step closer to retaining his Modified title for the fourth season straight.  Securing the TQ, he claimed his third victory of the season with a win over Christopher Krapp in A2, the Yokomo driver looking for a time like he might force things to go to A3 after getting by Freddy Sudhoff in the opening laps.  At the end however Coelho, as in A1 last night, was able to maintain a save advantage at the front crossing the line 7/10th in front of Krapp with Sudhoff a further 1-second back, the Top 3 having quickly broke away from of the rest of the 11 car field with Yannic Prümper finishing a distant 4th.

Jessica Palsson crowned Swedish E-Buggy Champ

The 2019 Swedish E-Buggy Nationals were held on a purpose-built track in Malmö this past weekend. At the end of an eventful 10-minute A-main final it was former Kyosho driver, Jessica Palsson with the win from the HB Racing duo of David Ronnefalk in 2nd and Elias Johansson in 3rd. David Hassel and Micke Svensson would round out the top 5 results.

Morganti & Krägefski win at GT International Race

The 1/8th GT International Race was held at the MRC Leipzig track in Germany this past weekend. In the shaft-driven GTS class it was Gimar driver, Thilo Tödtmann with the overall TQ from teammate, David Loppini on the 2 spot as Xray’s Martin Bayer and Juraj Hudy rounded out the top 4 results. The final then saw US racer Paolo Morganti (IGT8) taking the win in the 45-minute main final from Thilo on the 2 spot, some two laps down. Thilo had the hole shot at the start of the main, however he would later have a small mishap when he hit a back marker and flipped his car on the roof. However he was able to bring home the runner-up spot in front of David Loppini as Martin Bayer and Juraj Hudy came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Jonathan Skidmore wins at Nitro X Criss Summer Series Rd8

Round 8 of the Nitro X Criss Summer Series was held at JC Raceway. In the Nitro Buggy class it was Team Associated’s Jamie Clancy with the overall TQ, however after the A-main final it was Agama’s Jonathan Skidmore with the overall win some four seconds in front of Jamie Clancy. Veteran racer, Graham Alsop (HB Racing) came in 3rd to round out the podium.

Slovakian 1/10th Buggy Nationals Rd4 – Report

Last weekend the fourth round of the Slovakian 1/10th Electric Buggy Nationals was held at the RC-Commora track in Komarno. Hot weather made for very slippery track conditions and in 2WD Buggy it was Xray’s Lucas Grainer who made the best out of the conditions, taking the TQ and win from Tamiya driver, Michal Nagy in 2nd and Team Associated’s Adam Urban in 3rd.

Daniel Kobbevik sweeps Norwegian Buggy Nats Rd3

Round 3 of the Norwegian 1/8th Buggy Nationals was held at the Racingland factility in Sandefjord this past weekend. The track was nicely prepared by Eddy Pedersen, Robin Houmb and all of the club’s crew and it developed some nice character during the weekend, making it pretty challenging for the drivers and every mistake very costly. Saturday was qualifying day for the Nitro class and Daniel took the overall TQ after winning round 1, 3 and 4 as Rune Karlsen won round 2. So Daniel was overnight TQ and already overall while Sunday came and this was going to be a little bit more busy day, since it was also Electric at same day with both qualifiers and finals between. Daniel TQ’d the final qualifier in Nitro as well, and he also TQ’d in the Electric class.

BRCA Truggy & E-Buggy Nationals Rd3 – Report

Round 3 of the BRCA Truggy and E8 Electric Buggy Nationals was held at the Brookthorpe astro turf track with a somewhat low turn out of only 29 drivers. The day started off with two rounds of timed practice in heat order followed by three rounds of qualifying on the bone dry and very fast track with thhe faster drivers were getting mid 30 second laps. During the day Matt Lewis would take the TQ spot in Truggy with Jon Howells come in 2nd place overall, and Mitchell Booth taking 3rd place overall. In the E-Buggy class it was Mike Lewis with the TQ with Michell Booth in 2nd overall and local driver Simon Hamblett taking 3rd place overall. Starting with the Truggy A-final, the race ran for 30 minutes and there were some amazing battles throughout the race. 1st and 2nd was up and gone from the get go. But 3rd and 4th were battling it out until the very end. The top 4 were Matt Lewis who drives for Associated, Mitchell Booth who drivers for Tekno, Jon Howells who also drives for Associated and finally Wez Jolly a driver for Tekno.
