Thomas Stenger wins at MRC Longwy Winter Series Rd4

The fourth and final round of the MRC Longwy Winter Series was held this past weekend. In the competitive Touring Stock Expert class it was Thomas Stenger with the overall TQ, beating Jacques Libar by only 0.16s. In the finals Thomas came out on top in A1, however he suffered a DNF in A2 while it was Jacques with the win. In the deciding A3 Thomas brought home the win only 0.12s in front of Jacques meaning he would snatch the overall from Jacques in 2nd and Tobias Späth in 3rd.

Xray Racing Series Germany Rd4 – Report

The fourth and final round of the 2018/19 Xray Racing Series Germany was held at the Arena33 in Andernach recently. 66 drivers had made their entry for the fourth round of the series and which is a new all-time high with a total of 169 drivers attending the whole season. The weekend kicked off with the official presentation of the new Xray T4F 1/10th FWD touring car with the following race being won by Oliver Kaufmann in front of Ronny Hoffmann and Andreas Jacob. In the Touring Car Stock class, run with 13.5T Hudy motors and Hudy C3 hand-out tyres, Tobias Hoefflin (Xray) surprised with the best qualifying time. Melvin Diekmann came in 2nd, four tenths of a second behind, with Jannick Namyslo (Xray) coming in 3rd. As much as Diekmann fought and stuck to the rear of Hoefflin’s car, Hoefflin prevailed in all three finals and, after spectacular races, relegated Diekmann to 2nd overall. Namyslo completed the podium.

Scottish GT Regionals 2019 Rd3 – Report

The third round of the BRCA Scottish GT Regionals took place recently at Dundee and Angus Radio Controlled Car Club. This was the second visit to this venue in the series and the club again laid a fun track layout for a great day’s racing. Qualifying would see home favourite and current series leader John Simpson secure pole by a slim margin from an on form James Eaves. Kenneth Rogers would line up third from Graeme Dick, Arthur McGinnis and Colin Leslie.

Xray Racing Series UK Rd4 – Report

Last weekend was the 4th and penultimate round of the Xray Racing Series UK. With great attendance all season it’s been great to see folk really enjoying the series and atmosphere. In Modified it was Xray’s Alex Hagberg making a visit and he also took the win ahead of Xray team mate Elliot Harper as Yokomo’s John Pape came out in 3rd overall.

Schumacher Indoor Masters Rd7 – Report

This past weekend was the seventh and final round of the ever popular Worksop Series, with once again a full entry of drivers across the three classes of 2WD, 4WD and the Vintage Buggy. As always it was round by round qualifying as the racing format, with the best two results from four rounds of qualifying counting towards the final position. The track layout had some great features in it and was proper off-road. Many people commented what a brilliant lay out it was. As always a huge thanks go out to the fantastic Worksop track team.

Kunak & Bayer take 2018/19 Mibosport Cup titles

The 2018/19 Mibosport Cup held its season finishing final round last weekend with the series attracting a total of 414 drivers. 229 attended in the off-road classes while the on-road categories drew a total of 185 entries. This season drivers from twelve countries including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Great Britain, Estonia, Netherlands, Italy, Bulgaria and Canada made their way to the traditional location of he Hotel-Sport in Hrotovice. The final round of the season attracted a record entry of 261 racers. The Touring Modified attracted 27 racers to compete at the season finale with Zdenko Kunak taking the overall title thanks to winning four of the five rounds this season. Oliver Havránek finished in 2nd ahead of round 2 winner Matěj Šulc.

Reedy Touring Car Race of Champions – Announcement

The organisers of the Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions have announced that Steel City Speedway in Fontana, California will be the new home for the prestigious event following last year’s closure its former location, the Aliso Viejo based Tamiya Raceway. The 2019 edition will take place from the 23rd to 26th of May and due to time constraints and to maintain the world-class nature of the event, total entries are capped at 170 for the Open classes. This year, the Sportsman and Expert spec classes will be powered by 13.5-turn Reedy 540-FT fixed-timing handout motors to even the playing field and reduce costs. The Modified class will remain unchanged, with the winner receiving the honor of competing in the Invitational class in 2020. Full details can be found here and here.
