2019 Force Series Rd2 – Report

Last weekend the 2019 Force Series was back at it attracting over 180 entries for a single day of 1/8th nitro and electric racing. Round 2 was hosted at Triple Nickel Raceway in Bartow, Florida and it couldn’t have been a better weekend of racing. The weather was perfect and the track was spectacular. The very unique and traditional Florida red clay made for awesome grip and even better battles on the track. It was a great showing for Team Associated’s Jackson Brunson in the premier Expert Nitro Buggy class. After coming off a good weekend of learning from the DNC, Jackson used his newfound experience and knowledge and put it to the test here at round 2 of the Force Series. The hard work has definitely paid off as Jackson qualified 3rd and moved into the race lead early to hold off a hard-charging Justin Fales of team Serpent. The finishing order was Jackson taking 1st, Serpent’s Justin Fales 2nd and TLR’s JR Mitch rounding out the top 3.

The opening round of the Malaysia National League was held at the Putrajaya Offroad RC track this past weekend. The technical, rutty and rough track made for some challenging conditions and SWorkz’s Danny K would make the best out of the situation, taking the overall Pro Nitro Buggy TQ from Team Associated’s Jade Lim in 2nd. Jade would in turn snatch the pole position for the hour-long A-main event after the semifinals and he also went on to win the 60-minute race a lap in front of JQRacing’s Adam Fikri as Kyosho’s Taqi Hunterz completed the top 3 another lap down. Lovan Winter Series Rd3 – Report

The third and penultimate round of the 2018/19 Lovan Winter Series was held this past weekend. The organisers yet again created a fast but challenging track on the huge 40x30m track surface. As always, the very liberal rules regarding tyres, motors and additive meant the competitors had to be well prepared in order to fight for the available podium spots. Entries were a bit less this time, but the field was more than competitive to provide exciting races in the five available classes of 1/12 GT and LMP, Formula and Touring Stock and Modified. The latter only saw seven entries, but among those entries were two former European Champions; Stock Touring Champion Rémi Callens and 1/8th nitro Champion Robin D’hondt. It was also interesting to notice that this class did feature the most youngsters with Liam Van de Wouwer, Athan de Witte and Florian Joos.
