Adam Drake sweeps Stadium Nitro Shootout

Dialed In Raceway played host the second annual Stadium Nitro Shootout.  The event is part of the Legendary Adelanto Grand Prix that has over 20,000 spectators. Friday’s practice was limited due to rain throughout the day, but the weather was great for the 1/8th event on Saturday. The track was fast, flowing and had huge jumps and ultimately it was Adam Drake who the 25-minute Expert Buggy and Truck finals.

Quek successful at Malaysia National Champs Rd1

The opening round of the 2017 Malaysia National Championships was held at the Mutiara Rini circuit with a turnout of more than 80 racers making it a very competitive race. In the Modified class, Singapore’s Dominic Quek (Xray) set the early pace in qualifying with a TQ run in round 1. He would repeat the performance in round 2, but would not improve on his Q1 run as the traction conditions worsened due to the hotter temperatures. Malaysia’s Azri Amri (Xray) TQ’d Q3 but did not improve on Dominic’s Q1 time. With the single fastest round to count, Dominic took TQ, followed by Wong Kok Wai, while Asmad would start P3.

Kaja Novotny doubles at Czech Open Challenge Rd4

The recent fourth round of the Czech Open Challenge saw Xray’s Kaja Novotny sweeping the 2WD qualifiers and he would continue to dominate the finals also, taking the day’s win from Jiri Mara (Serpent) and Jiri Benes (Xray). Matej Sulc and Jindrich Jirak would complete the top 5 result. In 4WD Buggy it was again Kaja who excelled and starting from pole position allowed him to easily take wins in the opening two A-mains to grab his second overall victory of the weekend ahead of Petr Tomasek, Frantisek Kalenda, Jindrich Jirak and Jan Vild, making it an all-Xray top 5.

BRCA GT Nationals Rd3 – Report

After the Christmas and New Year break the GT Nationals continued last weekend for round 3 at the C.A.R.S club just outside Chesterfield. The club had chosen to change the track from Saturday to Sunday, giving the GT10 and Formula drivers a more open and flowing track and a tighter and more technical track for GT12 on Sunday. GT10 was a masterclass from Adam Catchpole, dominating qualifying. His closest competition came from his Zen Racing team mate Craig Nutting who was closely followed by Andy Murray for Schumacher.

Dani Batlle wins RBR36 Arena farewell race

The RBR36 Arena farewell race was held this part weekend in Barcelona, Spain. The final race at Robert Batlle’s own indoor off-road facility saw his brother, Dani Batlle walking away with the win in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class.

Viktor Wilck & David Ehrbar win at AMA opening race

The Amazing Indoor Arena AMA in Guangzhou, China held their opening race this past weekend. The race was run at the facility’s 40x25m indoor asphalt track and it attracted some of the country’s fastest electric on-road drivers as well as industry personalities to celebrate the official opening of China’s latest and possibly largest RC car racing Mecca. Racing-wise the event also attracted guests from abroad and two of them, Sweden’s Viktor Wilck and Germany’s David Ehrbar, that also took responsibility for the track layout, would take respective wins in the Touring Modified and Formula class A-mains.

Mibosport Cup Rd3 – Report

The third round of the Mibosport Cup 2016/17 was held this past weekend with 208 entries for the four electric on-road and two off-road classes. The race kicked off the second half of the season and in the Touring Modified class it was Dominic Vogl with Kuba Šimurda and Oliver Havránek occupying top 3 spots after the qualifying. The first A-main primarily saw a battle between Dominic Vogl and Kuba Šimurda. Kuba tried to attack but Dominic, with his fast and precise driving, didn’t give Kuba a chance. At the end of the first leg, Kuba was losing almost two seconds to the first place while Oliver Havránek finished in third.
