The 2017 Euro Contest will be held from the 16th to 18th of June at the Barco-Off track in Italy. Considered to be one of the largest nitro off-road races in Europe, with 270 entries in 2016, the race will again be held in the three categories of Pro Nitro Buggy, Open Nitro Buggy and E-Buggy. The TMK Raceway indoor track in Sweden recently held round three of the poplar Winter Cup. The tight track meant the racers had to be on their toes all of the time with no place to rest. This, combined with few possibilities to overtake made for close racing. Jesper Rasmussen made the best out of the difficult conditions as he came out fastest after the controlled practice with Jessica Palsson and local driver Hampus Berg in second and third. Victor Gunnarsson rounded out the top 4 in the 2WD class and those four were set to battle it out for the overall win.

The recent 2016 Suzuka RC Touring Challenge was organised by the Malaysian Pulau Pinang RC Club. The event was sponsored by an engine oil company and in the 13.5T Boosted Touring class it was Awesomatix driver Wong Kok Wai that took the win from the Xray duo of William Tiong and Michael Lim in second and third respectively.
Round three of the increasingly successful CWIC Xray Racing Series UK was held at the Christie Miller Sports centre in Melksham, Wiltshire. Just over 100 entries were received across the classes which for the lead up to Christmas is impressive. With that racers had some great choice with other races to attend on the same day with the 12th Nationals and EWS both clashing with the CWIC XRS. As in previous rounds the ever popular ProStock 13.5 class was the most popular by a long way, attracting well over a 100 racers to the class over the series so far. Round three has seen some new faces on the podium due to some notable absences being away. Top qualifier Dan Blake converted that into an overall round three win with wins in both legs of the finals. Closely followed by Chris Gunter and Mark Giaquinto.

The “The Traditional Lucia race” was held in Sweden and it saw Daniel Kobbevik taking the TQ in the 2WD Buggy class after the three qualifiers. Alexander Landen would line up second on the grid from Max Johansson in third. The opening final saw Daniel and Alexander taking off with no problems and the two were soon joined by Niclas Mansson who was able to pass Max. Daniel was keeping the lead, but made a small mistake and got placed on the wrong track segment by a marshall which cost him a lot of time, meaning the battle was now on between Alexander and Nille. They were battling for a few laps and eventually Niclas managed to make an aggressive pass in the chicane and Alexander got spun. The latter took up the chase and tried a pass at the end of the straight, but they tangled and Alexander flipped so they finished in the order of Nille first and Alexander second.

The second round of the Swiss Islikon Offroad Masters was held this past weekend with about 80 drivers in several electric off-road classes. In the 4WD Buggy category it was Kevin Prinz (Xray) who took the overall TQ after the qualifiers but in the finals Adi Riederer (Xray), coming from the 2 spot on the grid, would take the overall victory from Kevin while Team Durango driver Philipp Huber rounded out the podium. The Xray duo of Michel Buschor and Mario Di Bella completed the top 5 result.

The recent round of the popular Silverstone Winter Series saw Schumacher’s Tom Yardy scoring a dominant win in the 2WD class. Tom TQ’d all four rounds of qualifying, and cruised to a final win by a comfortable margin. There was a close battle for second between Eugene Galley (Xray) and Jack Neal (Schumacher) but eventually they tangled which allowed Richard Barton (Schumacher) through to take second and Iain Mellish (Kyosho) took third.
