Wallace Motorsports sign Brandon Cho

Wallace Motorsports welcome young California based on-road ace Brandon Cho to their nitro on-road racing family. Brandon, a former KO Propo Nitro Grand Prix Champion and National finalist, will be running the full spectrum of Wallace Motorsports products. Here’s what Brandon had to say about the new venture:

I’m excited to be a part of the Wallace Motorsports family. The car, engine, and tire package has worked tremendously well together and is only getting better. Cole Tollard trifecta at Horizon Hobby Shootout

The Horizon Hobby Shootout, part of the Horizon Hobby RC Fest 2019 was held in Monticello, Illinois last weekend. The event brought together all sorts of RC categories and the Pro Nitro Buggy class it was Team Associated’s Cole Tollard with the overall TQ and also the win in the 20-minute A-main final from Mugen’s Collin Weatherhold in 2nd and TLR’s Tyler Jones in 3rd.

Fabrizio Teghesi teams up with Ielasi Tuned

Ielasi Tuned from Italy have announced the signing of Italian off-road front-runner, Fabrizio Teghesi. Fabrizio will power his Kyosho rides using Ielasi Tuned’s Hummer7T WC competition engine while also helping with testing and development.

William Skidmore wins at NWN Summer Series Rd4

The fourth round of the NWN Summer Series was held last weekend with Jonathan Skidmore (Agama) taking the TQ in the Nitro Buggy class. After the A-main final however it was William Skidmore (Agama) with the win, a lap in front of Tekno RC’s Mitchell Booth. HB Racing’s Ashlee Owen and Jack Hirst came in 3rd and 4th respectively.

Davide Ongaro dominates RCGP Series Rd3 & Rd4

Rounds 3 and 4 of the newly-founded RCGP Series were held in Fehring, Austria over the weekend. Saturday’s round 3 saw Team Associated’s Davide Ongaro taking the overall TQ and he would also cruise to the win in the opening of the two A-main finals to make a first step towards taking the overall win. A last lap tangle secured Infinity’s Kyle McBride the runner-up spot from Infinity teammate, Lee Martin while the SWorkz trio of Jörn Neumann, Elliott Boots and Juan Carlos Canas came in 4th to 6th place.

2019 Manufacturers Cup – Report

The 2019 Manufacturers Cup was held at Amain’s California-based Silver Dollar R/C Raceway last weekend, attracting most of the country’s swift off-road racers. Overall entries were over 200 and people were genuinely excited to run their cars on the killer track at Silver Dollar R/C Raceway. What a race it was in the Pro Nitro Buggy class as the two Arizona’s best went head to head. Mugen’s Ryan Maifield was dominant on day 1, but Team Associated’s Spencer Rivkin up’d his game on Sunday and was able to beat out Maifield on the tie-breaker when it came down to best score. Since both drivers had identical results of two wins and one 2nd place finish, the tie-breaker came down to single fastest run with Spencer taking the win. Mugen’s Adam Drake came in 3rd with a total of 9 points.

2019 HNMC Member GP – Report

Every year the HNMC runs a Members GP this is a free meeting to thank all the club members for their support. They used a different race format this meeting with 15-minute qualifiers and 30-minute finals for Nitro and 10-minute qualifiers for E-Buggy and Truggy and two leg 12-minute finals – this was run as FTQ. When the qualifiers were over, Kevin Brunsden took the TQ in Nitro Buggy, Richard Miller took TQ in E-Buggy and George Miller top qualified Truggy. In the Nitro Buggy main Kevin Brunsden took the win from Taro Cradock and Owen Luckin. Truggy was won by George Miller from Darren Roper and James Morl. Over in E-Buggy it was Ricky Copper from James Clarke and Rick Spiers.

Greiner wins at EFRA GP Series Rd3 as Balestri takes title

The third and final round of the EFRA GP Series was held at the iconic Türkheim track in Germany last weekend. The 1/10th 200mm Touring class was dominated by Serpent’s Dominic Greiner, who took the win in the 45-minute A-main with a margin of three laps on runner-up, Dario Balestri (Infinity). Xray’s Leo Arnold came in 3rd, some six seconds short of Dario’s time. Carmine Raiola and Patrick Nähr completed the top 5, some two laps behind the Leo. Overall in the championship it was Dario Balestri with the title from Infinity teammate, Carmine Raiola on the runner-up spot. Serpent’s Alex Thurston came in 3rd to round out the overall top 3 podium.
