Kilic & Nelson win at Anglühen race

The German NitroManiacs club hosted their Anglühen season warm-up race this past weekend. The event was held in Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truggy classes and in the Buggy class it was the Agama duo of Burak and Berkan Kilic who would hold the top 2 positions after the qualifiers. The two would then also battle it out in the 30-minute main final, crossing the line only 1.1 seconds apart. Mugen’s Carsten Keller, sitting in 3rd place after the qualifiers, would round out the top 3 results. Over in the Truggy class it was Sascha Nelson with the overall TQ and he would also bring home the win in the half hour long A-main event. Sascha Häßner came in 2nd, some two laps down as Ingo Wanning completed the top 3 another lap down.

Dani Choi wins at Kyosho Masters Korea

The Kyosho Master Korea were held at Banwol Raceway in Ansan, South Korea over the weekend. Kyosho’s Dani Choi would walk away with the win in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class, leaving behind Kyosho’s Hwang Sunyoung who suffered engine issues at times, in 2nd place. Kevin Lee (Agama) would round out the podium result.

Euro Contest X – Announcement

The Euro Contest X, the 10th edition of the popular 1/8th off-road race, will be hosted by the OSPY Team club from the 21st to 23rd of June in Gussago in Northern Italy. The 2019 race will see Nitro Pro, Open and E-Buggy classes with last year’s event drawing 300 entries. Full information, sign-up and more can be found on the official event website here.

2019 April Fools’ Race – Report

The 1st edition of the April Fools’ Race was held last weekend in the capital of Brunei Darussalam, attracting local drivers as well as entries from Malaysia and Vietnam. The race format was four qualifying heats with best three out of four to count. Local driver Brian Lim would dominate the qualifying by TQ’ing the first three rounds and sitting out the final qualifier to prepare his car for the finals. In the 45-minutes final, Brian would lead in the opening stages before a faulty receiver pack dropped him to 3rd and David Lim from Vietnam would be promoted into the lead, battling with Foo from Malaysia for the next ten to 15 minutes. Foo would take the lead with 20 minutes to go and he would go on to win by a lap from Brian Lim in 2nd with David Lim taking 3rd.

Aigoin & Medjoubi win at 3rd annual Fun Race

The French Mini Bolid’ Club Pertuisien track held the third edition of its Fun Race this past weekend. Over the year the season opening race has become an integral part in the race programme of many French top pilots and this year was no exception. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class, attracting over 70 entries, it was Tom Robin with the overall TQ from Jerome Aigoin and Eliot Marcon, however in the super-tight 20-minute A-main final it was Yannick Aigoin with the win a lap in front of Patrick Auvient Jr. Rayan Medjoubi came in 3rd only some five seconds behind. Eliot Marcon and Maxime Noble would round out the top 5 only a lap behind the leader.

Thomas Eytard wins at French On-road regionals

A round of the French Nitro On-road regionals was held at the Bourg-en-Bresse track in the east of the country last weekend. In the 1/8th IC Track Open category it was Xray/Sigma’s Thomas Eytard with the win in the A-main from his Xray/Sigma teammates, Maxime Ripoll and Joel Gulling.

Tyler Hooks doubles at RC Pro Series North Division Rd1

Round 1 of the RC Pro Series North Division was held at Shaws RC Track in Ardmore, Oklahoma this past weekend. In the Pro Nitro Buggy category it was Tekno RC’s Tyler Hooks with the TQ after the triple qualifiers and he would also come out on top after the 45-minute A-main event, leaving behind Mugen racer, Hunter LaFleur in 2nd, a lap down while Tekno RC’s Aaron Royston completed the top 3 another lap down. Over in the Pro E-Buggy class it was again Tyler Hooks with the overall TQ and he would also bring home the win as Charles Day (Team Associated) and Quincy Hughes completed the top 3 results.

Juan Carlos Canas wins at Andalusian regionals Rd2

The second round of the Andalusian regional championships was held at the Circuito de Automodelismo Luis Chacon track this past weekend. SWorkz’s Juan Carlos Canas swept both the triple qualifiers and also the 45-minute A-main final, only swapping positions with Mugen’s Jose Miguel Sanchez a couple of times around the 10-minute mark of the race. Ultimately Juan would bring home the win with a 2-laps margin from Jose Miguel in 2nd as Kyosho’s Alejandro Perez would round out the top 3 result.
