David Ronnefalk signs with Performa Racing

Newly-formed Performa Racing have announced the signing of World Champion racer David Ronnefalk to their factory team. The HB Racing factory pilot will race, test and help develop Performa Racing electric and nitro power units and accessories for off-road and on-road racing. Performa Racing’s Adrien Bertin says: “Over the past two years we have had great success with HB Racing, and some of our HB team drivers wanted to use a complete Neidhart SA package that included the car and power source. After some talk with Neidhart SA owner Philippe Neidhart, we decided that the Performa concept will work alongside HB Racing.” From elite world class racers like Ronnefalk to club racers around the world, Performa Racing is committed to deliver industry leading products developed by the most experienced designers and tested by the top racers in the R/C industry. Look for the complete line Performa products to roll out in early 2019, including nitro engines, electric motors, speed controllers, batteries for on-road, off-road, crawlers and much more.

Dominic Greiner leaves Novarossi

1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring benchmark driver, Serpent’s Dominic Greiner has announced his departure from Italian engine manufacturer Novarossi. The former IFMAR 1/10th 200mm World Champion leaves behind a very fruitful 3-year campaign with the brand, that culminated in the 2016 Worlds title, and he has the following to say about his departure:

With the season hopefully starts soon I would like to announce that I will no longer race for Novarossi engines. It was a difficult decision for me but it’s time for a change. We had grateful three years together and could win some big events including my first world championship title 1:10 in Italy 2016. I want to thank the whole Novarossi factory for the trust and the support. Especially to Daniele Ielasi for the work at the track and the time for improvements. News will follow soon.

Kilic brothers sign with AKA

AKA Europe have announced the signing of Germany’s Burak and Berkan Kilic to their team. The two youngsters can already look back on some very impressive national and international results and they will be using AKA rubber on their Agama rides starting immediately.

Kyle McBride joins Infinity off-road program

Infinity has announced the signing of world class 1/8th scale off-road racer Kyle McBride to its factory race team. The 4-time World Championship finalist brings his vast offroad racing experience to the 2-time On-road World Champion manufacturer and will assist them in growing their knowledge of the offroad competition scene. Running a 1/8th off-road programme under the Infinity team banner, the reigning 8-time Australian National Champion said:

I am really excited for the opportunity to be apart of the Infinity family and look forward to a very strong 2019 season! A very special thank you to Taira San for having me.

Ryan Maifield doubles at 1st annual Nitro Warm Up race

The Nitro Compound of Maricopa, Arizona held their 1st annual Nitro Warm Up race this past weekend. The race attracted both local talent and World Championship drivers and in Pro Nitro Buggy it was Mugen’s Ryan Maifield with the win from fellow Mugen racer, Mike Truhe. Team Associated’s Spencer Rivkin would come in 3rd. Over in Pro Nitro Truggy it was again Ryan Maifield with the win as Team Associated’s Spencer Rivkin came in 2nd and TLR’s Tanner Danney rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Matt Chambers joins SWorkz factory team

SWorkz have announced the addition of Matt Chambers to their factory team trough to 2020. The multi-time ROAR National A-main finisher will campaign SWorkz’s 1/8th and 1/10th off-road platforms at major races across the country and he has the following to say:

I believe SWorkz has the vision and infrastructure to become the top brand for radio control model cars and I believe they are well on their way to achieving that goal. When presented with the opportunity to race for the SWorkz team , I jumped at the opportunity! I would like to personally thank Max Sonnleitner, Georg Horninger, and Scott Yang!

Brian Lewis sweeps Forever Heroes Race

The 3rd annual Forever Heroes race was held in Albany, Georgia recently. The 2-day event was hosted by Chehaw Raceway and drew a little over 100 entries. In the Pro Nitro Buggy class Brian Lewis took the TQ and he went on to win the A-main by five laps, leaving behind Brian Peterson in 2nd and Chad Brinkley in 3rd. In the Pro E-Buggy A-mains Brian would secure wins in A1 and A2 for the overall from Justin Kinsey 2nd and Brian Peterson 3rd.

Xray Racing Series Greece Off-road Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Xray Racing Series Greek Off-road was held at the Fanatix Racing Track in Athens. Cold weather and changing track conditions kept the racers on their toes, looking for the best possible setup. The 2WD Buggy pilots faced a lot of difficulties to find the right setup for the slippery and slower getting track. While the drivers scored 12-lap runs in the qualifiers, in the finals only 9-lap runs would be possible. Ultimately it was Manos Kalantzakis with the win from George Kalantzakis and Stelios Kourkoumelis.
