Nick Cox wins at North West Nitro Series Rd2

Round 2 of the North West Nitro Series was held at the club’s Mythop Road site near Blackpool this past weekend in pretty windy weather conditions. The original plan was to use the club’s dirt track but given the wind direction and openness of the rostrum it was decided to use the astro track instead. The wind never let off all day but this helped dry the wooden section as the day progressed but in the last qualifying round it rained for 5 mins making things interesting again for all. In the end it was Nick Cox (HB Racing/Team Orion) with the win in the Nitro Buggy A-main from Chris Sharpe Simkiss (SWorkz/SPower) in 2nd. Vincenzo Zuccarelli would round out the top 3 with his Novarossi-powered ride.

Matt Lewis wins Ledbury Winter Series Rd4

A great turnout of 55 drivers attended round 4 of the Ledbury Winter Series this past weekend at Ledbury Model Car Club. The weather stayed dry and the track was extremely grippy. Mike Lewis dominated qualifying – securing all four round with TQ. His brother, Matt was 2nd overall with yet more AE drivers Jon Howells and Lloyd Pitt 3rd and 4th respectively. Onto the A-final that saw some really interesting battles throughout the 15-minute race. AE’s Matt Lewis took the win by only 0.6 secs from his brother Mike. Jon Howells took the final step, only 0.5 secs in front of HB driver Chris Lovell.
