Luke Duthie takes Australian 1/8th On-road title

The Australian IC Track Nationals were held in Melbourne last week in challenging weather conditions. In the 1/8th IC Track class it was Steven Jovanovic (Capricorn) with the TQ from Mugen’s Jeff Hamon. In the 45-minute A-main event however it was Infinity’s Luke Duthie who would prevail, taking the win some four laps in front of Shepherd’s Ric Bartolozzi on the runner-up spot. Leigh Dytor (Mugen) would complete the top 3 podium result.

Jeff Hamon TQs & wins at Australian TC Track Champs

The 2018 Australian IC Track Championships were held in Melbourne, hosted by the MRCCR club. Changing weather made for some difficult conditions and it was Mugen’s Jeff Hamon who would manage to take the TQ in the 1/10th Nitro Touring class and he also came out on top in the 45-minute A-main event, taking the title some two laps in front of Shepherd’s own Thilo Tödtmann. Capricorn’s Steven Jovanovic came in 3rd from Peter Jovanovic 4th. Mugen’s Andrew Gillespie rounded out the top 5.

Bregante & Trigos win at Metropolitan Champs Rd5

The Circuito Hernan Matticoli track played host to the fifth round of the Metropolitan Championships recently. In the 1/8th Nitro GT class it was Xray’s Nicolas Bregante with the win from Lucas Lemes (HB Racing) in 2nd and IGGT8 driver Pato Cruseno in 3rd. Over in the Masters class it as a full Xray podium with Pedro Trigos taking the win from Damian Montiel and Dante Maximo Covino in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Neil Cragg wins Deerdale off-road race

The Deerdale club in the UK held a friendship race last weekend and it was Team Associated’s Neil Cragg with the win in the 15-minute Nitro Buggy A-main event. Neil’s AE teammate Lewis Jones would end the day on the 2 spot, some 26 seconds behind Cragg as Dave Bailey would round out the all-AE top 3 a lap down.

1st Iberian Shepherd Race – Report

The inaugural Iberian Shepherd Race was held at the ARCA track in Alcobendas, Madrid last weekend. The event was held in the five classes of 1/8th IC Track, 1/8th EP, 1/10th 200mm Touring, 1/8th GT and Formula and it attracted international top drivers like Eduardo Escandón and Simon Kurzbuch to show their performance on the track while of course helping others in the pits. As for the results it was Simon Kurzbuch with the win in the 1/8th IC Track class from Ruben Olivares on the runner-up spot and Sergio Montesinos, who rounded out an all-Shepherd podium in 3rd.

Shoki Takahata defends JMRCA 1/8th IC Track title

The 2018 JMRCA 1/8 IC Track National Championship was held at the Japanese SRT track this past weekend. Reigning champion, Mugen’s Shoki Takahata, took the top qualifier honours in front of Infinity’s Takaaki Shimo with the two securing the only direct qualifying spots. The 45-minute main final then again saw Shoki coming out on top, securing himself the win and back-to-back championship title as Infinity’s Jesse Davis came out in 2nd. Takaaki Shimo rounded off the podium result in 3rd.

Jon Hazlewood wins Nemo Racing Roadshow race

The Plymouth RC track in the south west of the UK played host to the Nemo Racing Roadshow race this past weekend. Held on their astro turf track the race saw Agama’s Jon Hazlewood taking the win in front of his Agama teammates Josh Graham in 2nd and Allan Bridgeman in 3rd.

Buddy Christian wins at JBRL Nitro Series Rd8

The 8th and final round of the 2018 JBRL Nitro Series was held at Hot Rod Hobbies in Saugus, California last weekend. In the Sportsman Truggy class it was Jack Rock with the TQ, however it was young Buddy Christian, coming from 4th on the grid, with the win in the 15-minutes A-main event, leaving Jack in 2nd some 2.8 seconds down. Dienna Eichenberger would score a popular 3rd place to round out the podium.
