Jason Nugroho TQs & wins Solo Year End Race

A total of 53 drivers from Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Jogjakarta, Medan, Batam, Kendari, Makasar, Pontianak, Balikpapan as well as local drivers attended the event. Because the track is a semi-indoor facility the rainy weather on Sunday had little to no effect on the racing action and after the six qualifying rounds it was Jason Nugroho (Xray/Novarossi) who took the TQ honours and also the win from John Agus (Kyosho/O.S.) 2nd and Adrian Sutanto (Kyosho/O.S.) 3rd.

Jorge Chacon wins Bolivian Nationals finale

The final round of the Bolivian 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held in Cochabama over the weekend. The tight and technical track with many jumps and a very big double made for challenging conditions as did the lack of oxygen, 8000 ft. above sea level. JQRacing’s Joseph Quagrain, who is on a South America tour currently, took the overall TQ after winning the final three qualifiers and he was also leading the 30-minutes A-main final until, after having already lapped the field, he collided with a competitor’s car landing the big double which damaged the engine of JQ’s car, ultimately ending his race. This made way for young Jorge Chacon (JQRacing) who kept his cool and took the win in front of Wilson Cuellar (HB Racing) 2nd and Carlos Guerra (JQRacing) 3rd.

Lefebvre & Kemper win at Gulf Coast Grand Prix

The 2017 Gulf Coast Grand Prix was held at Mikes Hobbytown in Porter, Texas with the race having attendees from all three coasts, California, Florida, and Texas. At the start of the GT8 final, Nick Lefebvre (Xray), coming from 4th on the grid, was able to move into 2nd within just a few laps trailing Marcus Williams who was leading. Marcus and his Serpent would need to make an extra fuel stop during the 30-minute main event. With 7:30 to go Nick made his last stop and came out of the pits just behind the leader. This would give Nick the gap he needed as Marcus was making one more stop and in the progress Nick was able to hang onto the lead and cross the line to take the win. Marcus would come in 2nd from Jeff Whiting (Serpent) 3rd.
