Rafael Angulo wins at US World Nitro Cup

Last weekend’s US World Nitro Cup saw Rafael Angulo pulling the hat trick in the GT8 ROAR 5-port Spec class. Rafael would be taking the TQ honours, victory and fastest lap of the event, leaving behind Joel Aubrey in 2nd and Tim Caporal 3rd.

Berton & Ongaro take KRacing Winter Edition wins

The inaugural KRacing Winter Edition race was held at the La Nucia track in Spain this past weekend. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Team Associated’s Davide Ongaro with the TQ from Mugen’s Robert Batlle and Team Associated driver Tom Robin. In the main final however it was Kyosho’s Riccardo Berton, coming from way down the field, who scored a popular win from Davide in 2nd as Kyosho’s João Figueiredo snatched the final podium spot. Alex Zanchettin (Tekno) came in 4th, Robert Batlle had to settle for 5th overall after some problems. Over in 1/8th E-Buggy it was also Davide Ongaro (Team Associated) with the overall TQ and by scoring wins in the opening two A-mains he would also take the overall victory from Mugen’s Robert Batlle 2nd and Tekno’s Alex Zanchettin 3rd.

Jesse Davis TQs & wins at US World Nitro Cup

Last weekend’s 2017 US World Nitro Cup saw Infinity’s Jesse Davis walking away with the TQ and win in the 1/8th Open class. Jesse took the TQ from Infinity teammate, Naoto Matsukura and he also scored a commanding win in the 45-minutes A-main, wrapping up the title with a 6-laps lead from Lamberto Collari, making it an Infinity 1-2. Serpent’s Joaquin De Soto came in 3rd, another two laps down.

Thilo Tödtmann takes US World Nitro Cup title

The 2017 US World Nitro Cup was held at Full Throttle Raceway in Kissimmee, Florida this past weekend. As usual the event attracted both national racers as well as guests from abroad with this year’s event again attracting a strong field of European drivers. In the 1/10th 200mm Nitro Sedan class the top 3 after the qualifiers was an all-Infinity affair with Jilles Groskamp on top followed by Andy Moore and Teemu Leino. DJ Apolaro and Thilo Tödtmann would round out the top 5 results.

Jarno Pijpers joins SWorkz

SWorkz have announced the signing of Dutch frontrunner, Jarno Pijpers to their team. Jarno will be running the company’s 1/8th and 1/10th scale kits in the 2018 season and he has the following to say about the deal:

The past years were some really good ones I was able to take the Dutch championship. I am really impressed by the SWorkz cars and the support of the team. In the winter I drive 2wd and 4wd 1:10. 1:8 nitro is the main class, I will drive the E-Buggy too in the Dutch championship. Specials thanks to Max Sonnleitner, MW RC Cars and SWorkz Europe.

Kokemper wins 200mm class at South Brazilian Champs

The Conesul track in Portao hosted the 2017 South Brazilian On-road Championship recently with the event being highly impacted by the weather. The schedule already saw some limitations and even the 40-minute 200mm A-main had to be canceled at the 37-minute mark due to rain, handing Bernardo Kokemper the win and title from Luciano Aquino 2nd and Diego Nogueira 3rd.

Dytor & Hamon win Australian IC On-Road titles

This past weekend the 2017 Australian IC On-Road Championship were held in New South Wales, Australia. In the 45-minute 1/8th nitro on-road A-main it was Leigh Dytor with a close 3-seconds win from David Craft on the runner-up spot. Jeff Hamon would round out the top 3 result some two laps down.

Keitune Carrera Cup R/C Tour – Announcement

Keitune Speedway, home of the 2013 IFMAR 1/8th On-road Worlds, have announced the Keitune Carrera R/C Tour Championship for 2018. The 10-race series will kick off on the weekend of the 25th of February and concludes on the 25th of November and it is run 1/8th Nitro, 1/10th Nitro Touring, 1/8th Nitro GT, 1/5th Touring and 1/5th Formula classes.
