Dominic Bauer joins Picco

Austrian Picco distributors MW RC Cars have announced the addition of multiple Austrian national champion, Dominic Bauer to their team. Dominic will use the Italian engines in his 1/8th nitro off-road campaign and he has the following to say:

Fábio Torres Ramos wins Portuguese 200mm opener

The first round of the Portuguese National Championship was held at Figueira da Foz track in Maiorca in the centre of Portugal. The event saw Fábio Torres Ramos taking the TQ spot, setting the fastest lap and winning the main final one lap in front of the 2nd placed driver Nuno Duraes with Hugo Trindade completing the podium another three laps down.

Mustafa Alp doubles at Turkish On-road Champs Rd1

Round 1 of the Turkish On-road Championship was held at the Efmod Track in İzmir. Unlike last year the weather was nice all weekend and in the Electric Touring Prostock class it was Mustafa Alp who took the TQ after winning three of the five qualifiers. In the finals Mustafa came out fastest in A1 and A2 to take the overall win early, leaving Ahmet Kasap and young Poyraz Serezlioğlu in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Sergi Franch wins Spanish 200mm season opener

The opening round of the Spanish 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring National Championship was held at the ARCA track in Madrid in very tricky weather conditions. Due to rain on Saturday, the qualifying was moved to Sunday morning, just before the finals. Sergi Franch would claim the overall TQ after some flawless driving, setting the fastest time in Q3 in front of local drivers Adrian Ortiz and Victor Pelaez. Unfortunately after the qualifying it started to rain again and Victor Pelaez took the 2nd spot on the grid after winning the Superpole.

Blake Raulerson successful at Force Series Rd3

Round 3 of the Force series was held at Lake Park RC in Tampa, Florida with 186 entries for the weekend making for a long day of racing. In the 25-minute Nitro Buggy A-main Blake Raulerson, coming from the 6th spot on the grid, soon moved up to 3rd and started turning laps, trying to stay out of trouble. With a 2-stop strategy Blake had an advantage over the 3-timers and he got into the lead late in the race and with about three minutes left. Ultimately he was able to bring home the win in front of Travis Adams and Kevin Abbott in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Jon Hazlewood wins at Rhein Main Warm Up

Last weekend’s 11th Rhein Main Warm Up race not only saw the running of nitro and electric buggy classes but also nitro truggy racing. Agama’s Jon Hazlewood was in control of things all weekend, leading both the practice rounds and also qualifying to line up in P1 on the grid. The start of the main final went without problems for the pole-setter and ultimately Jon would bring home the win in front of TLR’s Andreas Bartels while old dude Abdullah Kilic (Agama) would secure himself the final spot on the podium.

Keller & Neumann win at Rhein Main Warm Up race

The 11th annual Rhein Main Warm Up race was held in Bischofsheim near Frankfurt, Germany this past weekend. Considered the unofficial season opener the race once again attracted both national and international drivers and in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Mugen’s Carsten Keller who walked away with the win after the 40-minutes main final from JQRacing’s Joseph Quagraine in 2nd and Serpent’s Jörn Neumann 3rd.

Green & Thurston win at BRCA 1/8th Track Nats Rd2

Round 2 of the BRCA 1/8th Track National Championship was held at the super fast Halifax track with the weather being dry and sunny for both Saturday’s practice and the race on Sunday. The entry was 36 nitro cars and 21 electric cars and by the end of the practice day Mark Green was the quickest with his XRD-powered Serpent in the nitro class while Alex Thurston with his Arrowmax-powered Serpent, was the quickest electric class driver. The two would also come out on top after Sunday’s qualifiers and they would again excel in the finals, with Mark Green taking the nitro win from Andrew Hastings (Shepard/O.S./Matrix) in 2nd and Richard Hicklin (Serpent/O.S./Contact) 3rd. In the electric class Alex Thurston was sidelined on the podium by Adam Catchpole (ARC) and Joe Hawnt (Serpent).
