Greek 200mm Nitro Touring National Series Rd2 – Report

The Montelodromio track of Patras, Greece recently played host to the second round of the Greek National 200mm Nitro On-road Series. The event also doubled as the Greek National Cup Race. In the 35-minute A-main mishaps by the top qualifier allowed Bill Lykaris and Nikos Karabelas to battle for the lead. After a nerve shattering 15-minutes bumper-to-bumper battle, Nikos had retained the lead and kept his pace fast and steady while other drivers made errors and fell back. In the later stages of the final, after the last two pit stops, Nikos had already built a huge 3-lap lead so he had to just bring the car home although this wasn’t an easy task with many incidents happening on the technical track, but Nikos Karabelas (BMT) kept his cool and crossed the finish line first, bringing home the win at round two of the championship, the National Cup title and also the fastest single lap. Bill Lykaris (Shepherd) came in second while Dimitris Papadopoulos (Serpent) had to settle for third.
