Vincent Jackson teams up with Capricorn

Capricorn have announced US frontrunner Vincent Jackson as part of the team for the 2017 season. After a short hiatus, the former Serpent driver makes his comeback to the racing scene, campaigning Capricorn’s LAB-C03 1/10th scale nitro touring car in preparation of the 2018 worlds. Vincent says:

I am extremely excited for the opportunity to run for Capricorn RC and RCtarget. I want to thank Rino, Frankie and Patrizio for making me a part of the team. I have no doubts about Capricorn products and looking forward my future with them.

Ryan Maifield joins Mugen Seiki Racing

Mugen Seiki Racing have announced the signing of Ryan Maifield to their factory team. Rumours about the former TLR driver changing teams were around for a while and now Mugen have officially dropped the news. Ryan only joined his former team back in Summer 2014 after being a long-time Team Associated driver. Mugen are looking forward to the time ahead and while Ryan has yet to announce his 1/10th scale rides, images posted online have all but confirmed him at Japanese company Yokomo.

IGT8 welcome Paolo Morganti

IGT8 have announced the signing of high-profile racer Paolo Morganti for the 2017 season. Paolo will be attending most big events throughout North, Central and South America while also assisting with product development. IGT8 and Paolo begin this new relationship just in time for probably the largest GT event of the year, “The Pan American”, which is being held later this week at Homestead RC Raceway. Paolo has the following to say:

FX Engines add Bruno Coelho to their off-road team

FX Engines have announced the addition of Portugal’s Bruno Coelho to their factory off-road team. The Xray factory driver will be running FX engines in his 1/8th off-road rides and his campaign will include the Portuguese national championship, the EFRA Euros and also select international events. Bruno says:

After a long break from 1/8 off-road racing I have decided to join 1/8 off-road races as well this year. I know about the speed, performance and reliability of these engines and therefore it was an easy choice for me. I am really excited to work together with Juraj Hudy and will do maximum to achieve the best results.

Syoki Takahata teams up with Mugen

Mugen Seiki have announced the signing of Japanese National Champion, Syoki Takahata to their factory nitro on-road team. The former KM Racing driver will campaign Mugen’s MRX6 and MTX6R kits in the upcoming season that will see appearances at the national championship and also at the IFMAR 1/8th On-road Worlds in France.

2017 Dirt Nitro Challenge – Announcement

The 2017 The Dirt Nitro Challenge will take place from the 22nd to 26th of February at Fear Farm R/C Raceway in Phoenix, Arizona. The 18th instalment of the iconic event will again see a variety of scales and classes run with the premier categories being 1/8th Nitro Buggy, Nitro Truggy and E-Buggy. Additional events are 1/5th scale and U4 racing and for the second year in a row also the Drone Challenge. The Neo Race 2017 – Announcement

NeoBuggy and DXR have officially announced the 2017 edition of The Neo Race, otherwise known as the “1/8 buggy Indoor Worlds”. The 12th anniversary of race sees the event run on it’s classic Easter weekend which is the 14th to 17th of April 2017. The Agricultural University Harper Adams in Shropshire, UK continues as the venue for the event, once again a 4-day affair – running Friday to Monday. The event will accommodate a maximum of 270 nitro buggy entries and 74 entries in the E-Buggy class. Qualifying will use five minute heats comprised of five rounds followed by bump up finals for all drivers, The Neo Race’s popular signature exhibition events return with a juniors final, oldies final, the Dash4Cash and Last Chance Qualifier. Shepherd sign Eduardo Escandon

Shepherd have announced the signing of 2-times Spanish National Champion, Eduardo Escandon to their factory team. The Euro-A Vice-Champion and ENS A-main finalist will use the latest version of Shepherd’s Velox V10 in the upcoming season. Edu plans to attend all ENS events as well as the EC-A in Mulhouse/, France and he had the following to say:

First of all I would like to thank KM group for their support over the last few years, but now I feel it’s time for a change. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work with such a great team like Shepherd and I’m sure that it will be a big step forward for me at International races. I tested the car for the first time at my home Club setting a new track record, that´s amazing! Last but not least, thanks to Patrick Schäfer for giving me this opportunity, I´m really looking forward to the upcoming season. See you at the track.
