Jonnhy Pastor wins at Spanish 200mm Touring regionals

The recent Spanish 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring regionals saw Mugen’s Jonnhy Pastor walking away with the win. Starting from the 2 spot into the A-main Jonnhy put his car in the lead already in the second corner only to loose it some five or six laps later due to clutch problems. But after the first round of pit stops Jonnhy was back in third and soon after he was also promoted into second, allowing him to challenge team mate David Belen (mugen). The latter later suffered car problems so he was out of the race for the win. Raul Amella (Xray), also in the mix for the win, had to cope with a flame out before refuelling, giving Jonnhy room to breathe and to cruise to the win from David and Raul.

JQ grabs 10th Nordic Championship title

JQ grabs 10th Nordic Championship title

The 2016 Nordic Championships were held in Stockholm, Sweden over the weekend. The race, catering to racers from Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, was TQed by HB’s David Ronnefalk, followed by Christoffer Svensson (Mugen) and JQRacing’s own Joseph Quagraine. The times were really close in qualifying with the rounds being decided on the last laps. David and JQ raced in the same semi final, and battled for the entire race, with David eventually coming out on top. The pace was fast enough to place them 1 and 2 on the grid for the main, with Svensson winning the other semi lining up third. The main was 60 minutes, and was pretty exciting for the first 10 minutes, with multiple lead changes, but then Ronnefalk clicked into a higher gear and pulled away. JQ and Svensson would go on battling for second place for almost 45 minutes. At that time, Ronnefalk just lapped JQ and flamed out right after handing JQ the lead. The last 15 minutes JQ just maintained his lead over Svensson who fought off a hard charging Marcus Sandberg (Mugen), and crossed the finish line winning his 10th Nordic Championship.
