Mugen Seiki Racing have announced the signing of Cole Ogden to their team. The former TLR driver and The Dirt Nitro Challenge Nitro Buggy finalist will bring a tremendous amount of racing experience into the super star US team that includes icons such as Adam Drake and Mike Truhe.

After the successful China National Championship race in 2015, the Xiamen ARC International Raceway hosted the Sunpadow Strait Cup last weekend, attracting around 200 entries to race in the two classes of 1/8th EP Buggy and 1/8th GP Buggy. Racers from Hong Kong, Macau, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia and Mainland China attended the race with the ARC International Raceway being located inside an industrial park, offering a size of 70×40 metres and a true world-class facility to host high-level races. In the 1/8th E-Buggy class 13-years old Jonathan Yeung from Hong Kong would take the TQ but due to bad weather the finals would be cancelled, handing Jonathan the win based on the qualifying results. Sam Chen from Taiwan would take the runner-up spot while Taiwan’s Ngai would end the 2-day event in third.

The 2016 Huge RC club race series kicked off this past weekend at the Huge RC indoor track in Bangkok, Thailand. The facility recently underwent a major refurbishing and this was the first race on the new asphalt surface with the track layout also having received a make over. In the 1/8th nitro on-road class Wittaya Songsiri took the TQ and win from Roongdej P. and Wattakorn while in the 1/10th Touring class former IFMAR Electric Touring World Champion Surikarn C. came out fastest from Akepol K. and Somjit.

Xray have announced the signing of reigning Italian Champion and long-time Xray privateer, Dante Piersante to their factory team. Dante will use the NT1 1/10th 200mm nitro on-road car in the national championship, regional races as well as selected international events such as the World Championships in Gubbio, the Italian Championship Series and also the ENS. Dante says:
As a private semi sponsored driver I have been racing with Xray for several years winning also my first national title last season. As Italy will host this season the World Championship I wanted to ensure to have the best possible chances and there was no other option for me than to team up with Xray factory team to have the best performing car and the most professional team in backup. The opening round of the Indonesia Buggy National Championship was held at the MRCC track in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia over the weekend. A total of 50 drivers attended and it was Jason Nugroho who took the TQ after the qualifiers and he would also come out successful in the 45 minute A-main to grab the win from Adrian Wicaksono and John Agus in second and third respectively. Chopin Yusuf and Andre Irawan would round out the top 5 result.

The International Bütschwil GP was recently held in Switzerland with over 100 drivers from Austria, Germany, Italy, UK and Swiss in attendance. Team Associated driver and multi-time Swiss national champion, Patrick Hofer would dominate the event right from the start of the practice sessions on. Patrick would grab the pole position for the main final after the semis and he also brought home the win to round out a perfect weekend. Behind him, fellow Team Associated driver Ronny Lüber would grab the runner-up spot from Micha Widmeier (SOAR) in third place.

The opening round of the Spanish 1/8th On-road Championships was held at the Automodelismo Ronda club this past weekend. Alberto Fernandez would lead the proceedings during practice but it was Nacho Lopez who came out fastest after the qualifiers, winning three of the five rounds. Ruben Olivares with two round TQs placed himself second after the qualifiers with Victor Gonzalez and Jacobo Guerrero coming in third and fourth. The semifinals had Nacho taking the pole position for the finals from Victor but problems around the 18 minute mark meant a DNF for Gonzalez, denying him a battle for the win and allowing Nacho Lopez to cruise to the victory at round one of the championship, some 2 laps ahead of Ruben Olivares with Jorge Revert completing the podium result another three laps down.

Creation Model have announced the signing of former IFMAR Electric Touring Car World Champion, Jilles Groskamp to the Infinity team. Jilles was chosen for his incredible driving skills, passion and dedication to the hobby. With his experience and professional attitude he will be an important part of the team while helping to improve current and develope future projects. The former HB/HPI driver had the following to say about the deal:
I’m very happy to announce my career move to Creation Model. This new company has a great passion for R/C and I will be joining a great group of people. First I will be running the Infinity 1/8 at most big races but in the meantime we will also be working hard on future projects.
