Robert Batlle wins Kuwait Camel Classic

The Radio Control Car Club of Kuwait played host to the 2016 Kuwait Camel Classic 1/8th nitro off-road race this past week. The event attracted both local talent as well as special guests from abroad and it was Spain’s Robert Batlle (Mugen) who would grab the pole position for the 45 minute main final that he would win from Japan’s Atsushi Hara (Kyosho) and Kenji Tsuruta (Mugen) in second and third respectively.

Bruno Coelho joins GForce

Bruno Coelho joins GForce

Japanese company GForce have announced the addition of 2015 IFMAR 4WD Buggy World Champion, Bruno Coelho to their team. The signing comes hot on the heels of Bruno’s new tie-up with Hobbywing and it is understood that his GForce deal will include the supply of electronics and accessories such as chargers, tyres warmers and the like. Bruno says:

I’m super happy to announce that I’ll be joining GForce for the 2016 season. Looking forward to start strong this new season. See you in the next race.

Cody King wins at Grass Roots series

Cody King wins at Grass Roots series

Thunder Alley RC Raceway of Beaumont, California held the Grass Roots series this past Sunday with the one day event attracting over 200 entries. In the 1/8th Buggy Expert A-main, TQ holder Cody King (Kyosho) took the win some 5 seconds in front of runner-up Shawn Kirkman (Tekno). Clayton Saxton (Team Associated) would round out the top 3 result some 11 seconds short of Shawn.

F.T. Line have announced the addition of veteran racer Domenico and up and coming Antonio Calce to their team line-up. The 2016 campaign of the two will see attendances at national Italian races and they will also compete internationally at selected ENS events.

Picco Onroad Challenge Europe – Announcement

Picco have announced that their annual Onroad Challenge Europe will be held on the weekend of the 3rd of April at the famous Fiorano track. The event will be held in 1/8th and 1/10th nitro on-road classes and the race format sees bump-up A, B, C, … finals. The best placed non-pro driver will win a Picco sponsorship for 2016 and the event will also see an engine raffle for the drivers of each 1/8th and 1/10th class final. Meen V. wins at 2016 Buggy Challenge Southern Rd1

The opening round of the 2016 Buggy Challenge Southern was held at the Pattaya track in Thailand. The 6-race series will visit three different tracks and round 1 had Mugen racer Meen V. taking the TQ and win in dominant fashion. Mongkolphan L. (HB) took the runner-up spot from a happy Paphon (Mugen) who ended the race on a fine third place despite suffering from engine problems during the main.

Renaud Savoya signs with TLR

Horizon Hobby France have announced the signing of French frontrunner Renaud Savoya to their team. The multi-time European Champion was released by his former chassis sponsors HPI/HB at the beginning of January and he now found a new home at Horizon Hobby and TLR. Jerome Chambon of Horizon Hobby France has the following to say about the deal:
