The race was held at the very technical Cotswold track in good weather conditions on Saturday and with around 45 drivers in attendance. Sunday morning was very foggy and the track was damp but quickly dried up when the sun came out. In the premier 200mm Touring class Alex Thurston was in a good position to grab the overall title and coming in second after the qualifiers things looked very promising. In the main final he suffered from a flame out but at the end Alex was able to snatch the overall Championship. In the Sports GT class Glyn Beal took the TQ and the win and with it the 2015 National Championship title.

Andy Hastings wins BRCA 1/8th On-road finale

Andy Hastings wins BRCA 1/8th On-road finale

The final round of the BRCA National On-Road Nitro Championship took place at the Mendip circuit in Weston Super Mare. During practice on Saturday it was warm and dry all day with the grip coming up steadily throughout the day. Sunday race day the weather remained the same after three rounds of qualifying, Shepherd driver Andy Hastings was sitting in 4th place. In the final round of qualifying, Andy was on to improve his time and position, however a stripped 2nd gear from a stone prevented any improvement. The start of the A-final Andy saw drop back to 5th behind David Spashett. After 5 minutes of nose to tail racing, an engine cut for David allowed Andy past and wind in on 4th position, eventually getting past and start catching the leaders. Around the 17 minute mark Andy moved into the lead – a quick tyre change on the front left at the 20 minute pit stop saw Andy maintain his lead – and settle into a steady pace to the finish. After 108 he crossed the finishing line in first position followed by Neil Diver (Mugen) in 2nd and John Carr (Serpent) in 3rd position.

Bowie Ginting wins at Infinity GP Rd4

Round 4 of Infinity Grand Prix was held at the JITC Senayan Track, Jakarta with a total of 50 racers attending in four nitro on-road classes including 1/8th Open and 1/10th 200mm Touring. Bowie Ginting would score a late 26 laps TQ run after some severe problems to take the overall TQ in front of Trin Tanongsakchaikul with 25 laps. Five seconds behind Trin, Adrian Sutanto would line up in third. The 200mm class final would start pretty late that day when the track’s traction was at its highest. Right from the beginning Bowie was able to open a gap on the field while Trin ran into trouble due to traction rolling which ultimately resulted in a chunked tyre. Things got even worse for him as during the pitstop for tyres his car’s engine suffered a flame out which gave Bowie even more room to breath up front. At the end of the final Bowie took the win with a 6 laps margin from Trin, while Fayakhun Andriadi rounded out the top 3 result.
