Bruno Coelho doubles at Portuguese Nationals Rd3

Bruno Coelho doubles at Portuguese Nationals Rd3

Round 3 of the Portuguese Nitro On-road National Championship was held at the São João da Madeira track in Oporto in the north of the country. The track was recently revived after not being in use for some ten years and due to the surface being pretty green tyre wear would be an issue for both the 1/8th and 1/10th classes. Bruno Coelho was the man to beat in both categories and so he would take the TQ after the qualifiers with a margin of a lap to the 2nd place drivers. In the 1/8th final Bruno’s biggest competitor for the win scored a DNF due to an engine failure only ten laps into the race. From that moment on Coelho was able to cruise to the win with his Xray prototype and despite a total of three tyre changes Bruno won the race some 7 laps in front of 2nd placed Hugo Exposto (Mugen).

Boots doubles at BRCA Truggy & E-Buggy National

Boots doubles at BRCA Truggy & E-Buggy National

This past weekend the BRCA Truggy and E-Buggy National was held at the new Wakefield track. The team had managed to turn at track from flat to a raceable venue in only 8 weeks with a tiny team of workers. With the track being very loose it was a different experience for the drivers and Elliott Boots was able to make the best of it by coming out fastest in the opening Truggy qualifier. The two other runs weren’t so great for Elliott, breaking the car in round 2 and being stuck in traffic in round 3 and this handed the Jack Embling the pole position for the finals which was further helped by some computer issues. At the start of the 30 minute Jack made a small error over the first jump section allowing Elliott to slip through. From that moment on the Boots controlled the remainder of the final and he was able to finish the main one lap ahead of the 2nd place driver.
