JConcepts sign Renaud Savoya

JConcepts sign Renaud Savoya

JConcepts welcome Renaud Savoya to their world-wide race team. Currently they have IFMAR World Champions, ROAR National Champions and Regional Champions on the race team and now they bring a European Champion back together with JConcepts. Renaud will race a complete full calendar of 1/8th off-road events as well as dipping into some 1/10th off-road as time allows and he had the following to say about the deal:

I’m delighted to join the JConcepts race team. It is a brand that brought a lot to this industry with major achievements and innovations. Well known worldwide with IFMAR and ROAR wins, it is also a great opportunity to work with some of the best drivers in the world. I’m excited with this new challenge and I will put in the best effort possible to bring titles on European soil. I would also like to thank everyone at Sweep Korea and USA for the last 4 successful years, especially Steve Kong and Ryan Lee.

Lehua Lin joins Team Serpent

Lehua Lin joins Team Serpent

Serpent have announced the signing of Lehua Lin to their team. The Chinese driver is considered an off-road expert with his best achievements so far being A-main appearances at FEMCA Championships as well as a podium finish at the 2013 FEMCA EP Buggy Championships. Lehua has the following to say about the deal:

I am very honored to join Team Serpent and very much looking forward to work with other world class racer on the works team. With the support from Team Serpent, I am sure I have the best package ready for the year 2015.

Kaufmann wins at South German Championship Rd1

Kaufmann wins at South German Championship Rd1

The first round of the South German Nitro On-road Championship was held at the MCC Türkheim club. The main final of the 1/10th 200mm class saw many great fights and good sportsmanship and up front Steve Baumgarten and Marco Kaufmann battled for the lead. At the end Marco was able to take the win one lap ahead of Steve Baumgarten with Julian Gaisbauer taking the final podium spot.

Matrix International Championship – Announcement

Matrix International Championship – Announcement

Matrix Racing Tires together with the team of the Tom Racing Circuit track in Hong Kong announce the Matrix International Championship from the 3rd to 5th of July. The race will be open to 1/8th scale and 200mm nitro classes, and will be held in a three days racing format with free practice on Friday, qualifications on Saturday and mains on Sunday. Miguel Matias wins at Portuguese Nationals Rd2

The 2nd round of the Portuguese National 1/8th Off-road Championship started out on a dry high-grip track but on Sunday the surface would be humid and slippery making for a good challenge for everyone. The A-main saw a lucky Miguel Matias taking the win despite a broken glowplug in the final minute of the A-main and behind him Ricardo Monteiro (TLR) finished in 2nd place while Xray driver Nuno Rebelo rounded out the top 3 result.

Michal Abrahamek wins at IFR 2015

Michal Abrahamek wins at IFR 2015

The IFR 2015 in was held at the Morac Graz in Austria with drivers from Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and Austria in attendance. The temperature of about 25 degree Celsius made for nice racing conditions although the grip level was pretty low. Xray driver Michal Abrahamek came out as top qualifier and he went on to win the main final without problems. Igor Liptak (Xray) came in 2nd while Gergö Lehner (Shepherd) rounded out the top 3 result.

António Guedes wins at Portuguese Nitro On-road Champs Rd1

The first round of the Portuguese National Nitro On-road Championship took place in Maia near Porto. In the 1/8th class António Guedes, coming from the 5 spot, moved into 3rd early in the race and he was able to up his game even more after a tyre change mid-race that gave him more confidence in the car. Lap by lap he closed the gap to the leader and after the final pitstop he managed to take over the lead and he kept it to the checkered flag.

Western German Championship Rd2 – Report

Only two weeks after the season opener at Dormagen, round two of the Western German Nitro On-road Championships was held at the Rhein-Ahr-Motodrom in Bad Breisig, located between Bonn and Koblenz at the river Rhine. With rain announced for the weekend 52 entries were received with 50 drivers finally attending the race, but the weather turned to be much better than expected and finally allowed for an excellent race weekend. On Saturday the track was wet in the morning but at about lunch time an intense practice was on the way. On Sunday morning the track was nearly dry and only the first heat was affected just a little bit.
