Zanchettin TQ’s penultimate Euros qualifier

Alex Zanchettin has TQ’d the fourth & penultimate round of qualifying at the 1:8 Offroad European Championships in Sacile.  On an increasingly difficult Ongaroring track, conditions catching out both David Ronnefalk and Robert Batlle, the Team Losi Racing driver set the pace from Kyosho’s Elliott Boots. Behind them, qualifying having so far produced a different driver at the top of the time sheets each round, Serpent’s Joern Neumann would enjoy his best qualifier to complete the Top 3.

Carsten Keller fully LRP'd

German 1/8th off-road front runner Carsten Keller is set to use all-LRP and Sanwa equipment in his rides from now on. The former 1/8th E-Buggy German Champion and EFRA Euros finalist will use LRP’s nitro off-road engines, exhausts, as well as brushless electronics, batteries and chargers form now on along a Sanwa radio system to take control of everything. This is what Carsten has to say about the deal:

LRP is offering a very professional support. Especially team manager Andy Krämer is extremely helpful at the races and this is where I first used LRP’s ZZ.21C Ceramic Spec.2. The engine satisfied me in any aspect and especially with his very good and reliable performance.

Ronnefalk sets pace in Q2

Ronnefalk sets pace in Q2

Despite getting spun around by a backmarker, David Ronnefalk set the pace in the second round of qualifying at the European Championships in Italy.  Such was the defending champions pace, even with losing 3-seconds as a consequence of the contact the HB driver still topped the round by over a second from newly crowned Euro B Champion Riccardo Berton.  After struggling in Q1,  a better set-up would help Xray’s Martin Bayer to complete the Top 3 just ahead of Davide Ongaro.  Having topped the opening qualifier, late mistakes while on a potential TQ run would leave Elliott Boots sixth fastest just behind Robert Batlle who also made mistakes.

Baldo fastest, Batlle top seed

Bryan Baldo has ended Day 2 of the 1:8 Offroad European Championships in Sacile, Italy, as the fastest driver around the Ongaroring but it is fellow countryman & Mugen team-mate Robert Batlle who is the top seed as the event moves into qualifying tomorrow. Baldo put in an impressive 3-consecutive-laps in the second of the day’s two timed practice rounds with a time of 1:53.059, bettering Batlle’s TP1 topping time by over a second. Behind Baldo, Italian Alex Zanchettin posted the second fastest time of day practice with a 1:53.507 in TP2. However using EFRA’s tie-break, points awarded each round, the TLR driver is ranked 4th behind Kyosho’s Riccardo Berton.  An improved TP2 would see defending champion David Ronnefalk post the 6th fastest time which was good enough to seed the HB/HPI Racing driver 10th.
