Ollie Currie wins at HNMC Winter Series Rd12

Round 12 of the HNMC Winter Series brought plenty of guys out to play at the recently re-vamped Herts track. With many new features put in and the layout having changed a fair bit, there was a challenge for all to get used to it, with the old layout having been in place for a long time. Qualifying saw Ollie Currie laying it down, and after a mistake in round 1 costing him that TQ he made no such mistakes in rounds 2 and 3 to take the overall TQ for the meeting in fine style.

Cristian Artiles wins at Grand Canary Winter Series

The 2015 Winter Series was held this past weekend on the island of Grand Canary. The temperature of 25 degrees made for perfect racing conditions and after the qualifiers it was Cristian Artiles who took the TQ. The semifinals went well for Cristian too as he was able to take the pole position for the 30 minute main that he later won some three laps ahead of Leandro Romano.

Following his move to chassis sponsors ARC Germany’s Lars Hoppe now also has a new fuel supplier. Using Maxima fuel for his 2015 campaign the German frontrunner joins team mates like Jörn Neumann, Dirk Wischnewski, Kaja Novotny and Malin Karlsen.

Marios Christodoulou wins at Cyprian Nationals Rd1

The opening round of the Cyprian 1/8th National Nitro Buggy Series was held at the A.G. Metal Track in Limassol under perfect weather conditions and on a challenging track. The 40 minute A-main saw the lead swapping several times and in the end Marios Christodoulou brought home the win from Nicholas Zachariades in 2nd and Simos Tikkis in 3rd.

Dirk Wischnewski renews with Matrix

Matrix Racing Tires have announced that former European Champion and multiple time German Champion Dirk Wischnewski renewed with the Italian manufacturer for the 2015 season. A 200mm class specialist the 33-years old Sheperd team driver is a regular A-Main finalist at international races, and in 2015 he will be in contention for the European title as well as the Euro Nitro Series title.

Michael Derderian continues with Xray

Xray have announced the re-signing of multiple French champion Michael Derderian for the 2015 season. Michael is focused on nitro touring car racing and will compete at all major national and international races including the French National Championship, the Euros and the ENS. The 4-times French Elite class champion had the flowing to say:

I have been racing with Xray for several years with a great success and as such I did not consider any other option than to continue with the World Championship winning team. I am happy to be part of the development team and will continue to help Martin and rest of the team with the further development of the NT1. During the year I will participate at all the major races including ENS series, Euros and of course the National series as well. I will be available at the French races to help to any Xray drivers, so do not hesitate to contact me with any your questions.

Ruben Perez joins Xray Junior Team

Xray have announced the signing of up and coming Ruben Perez to their talented Junior Team. Ruben is a 12-year boy from Spain who has shown an exceptional talent and he will be racing all Xray off-road cars including the XB8, XB8E, XB4, and XB2. The Spaniard will be racing at the European Championships, the Spanish national series and at regional races and he had the following to say:

I am very very happy to be given this opportunity and I cannot thanks enough to Xray for their trust in me. My main goal is to continuously improve my racing experiences in order to participate at the European Championship 2016 that will be held in my home country in Spain. I will race all the main races in Spain including the National Championship series and with the Xray cars and the support I am extremely confident.

Shay Brand doubles at Tennessee State Champs

This past weekend the Tennessee State Championship race was held at ROCCK Racing in Knoxville, TN with an amazing crowd of over 160 racers from all over the Southeast. Shay Brand TQ’d all three rounds of Pro E-Buggy to take the overall TQ. After some really close qualifying battles with Dylan Gerard in both Truggy and Buggy, Shay was able to take the final round and get the TQ in those classes as well.
