Tyler Jones wraps up Midwest Nitro Series

TLR/JConcepts driver Tyler Jones wrapped a very successful summer season this past weekend when the young gun attended the Midwest Nitro Series finals at Leisure Hours raceway in Joliet,IL. Rain and cold weather scared some off but still a great turnout. With the rain, the organisers were forced to run on the indoor track and the crew had a great track for the drivers. Tyler was able to TQ both the Pro Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes again, with the only 19 lap runs in Pro Nitro Buggy.

Joe Kerry TQ's & wins at British Nationals

The last round of the 2014 1/10th Nitro On-road British Nationals was at the Mendip track last weekend. Saturday started out wet and it took until 2pm for the track to dry out. At the end of practice Joe Kerry was fastest in 200mm Touring with a 16.9 second laps, 0.5 seconds quicker than team mates Mark Green and Alex Thurston. Glyn Beal and Andrew Hastings lead the field in 220mm GT.

Dutch Buggy Cup final round – Report

The final round of the Dutch Buggy Cup was scheduled to be held at the MVW Astro turf race track in Purmerend. The weather forecast for Saturday was sunny and dry but rain was predicted during the night and when the drivers arrived at the track on Sunday morning the surface was damp and the temperature dropped to 16 degrees. This meant drivers were left with the choice to change to a wet setup or wait for the track to dry and use Saturday’s settings and at the end many drivers choose to only change the tyres and anti-roll bars to adapt to the damp track.

Lembeck & Greiner win at Oktoberfestpokal

The MCC Türkheim’s Oktoberfestpokal was held this past weekend with over 30 drivers in attendance in the 1/8th nitro on-road and 1/10th 200mm classes. In the 1/8th category Oliver Lembeck took the win from Toni Gruber and Christoph Pietsch while in the 200mm class Dominic Greiner came out successful. The runner-up spot was taken by Toni Gruber while Julian Gaisbauer completed the podium in the 1/10th class.

Ric Bartolozzi takes Australian 1/8th on-road title

The 2014 AARCMCC South Australian IC National Titles were held last weekend with 25 drivers attending in the 1/8th on-road class. Steven Jovanovic (Capricorn) grabbed the TQ after the qualifiers from Jeff Hamon (Mugen) and Peter Jovanovic (Capricorn). The 45 minute final than saw the early retirements of the two Jovanovic’s making way for Ric Bartolozzi (Serpent) who took the win and the South Australian title some four laps in front of Tim West (Mugen) and Leight Dytor.

Mark Green retains BRCA 1/8th Circuit national title

With the season entering its final two races, the penultimate race of the BRCA 1/8th Circuit National Championship was at the Adur circuit in Brighton and this could decide the winner of the overall Championship in favour of Mark Green if he finished within the top 3. Current championship leader, Daniel Bancroft has had his best ever season with many consistent performances but Mark would overall him along with Tim Wood on best 6 of 9 scores to count.

Morganti, Grey & Desoto Sr. win at FORGASS Rd2

The 2nd round of the 2014/15 Florida On-Road Gas State Series was run this past weekend at the Fort Myers track in the three classes of 1/8th Open, 1/10th 200mm Sedan and 1/8th Super GT. The 1/8th class had Paolo Morganti taking an easy win some 6 laps ahead of Fabrizio Martello and Tony Rice with the latter being separated by only 0.9 seconds.
