Ryan Maifield signs new long-term contract with JConcepts

Ryan Maifield, the current Dirt Nitro Challenge 1/8th buggy champion, ROAR National Champion, double Indoor National Series champion and 1/10th Off-road Worlds podium driver has signed a new contract with JConcepts. Since 2005, the speedy Arizona based driver and JConcepts have formed a dynamic duo in the world of radio control racing. JConcepts has delivered performance driven products and together with Ryan’s speed and stamp of approval, the duo has accomplished what few others have. Ryan’s ability to dominate a hot new off-road class of competition or being able to excel at the legendary classes such as 1/10th and 1/8th off-road make Ryan a threat at any event in the world.  Ryan’s popular driving style and pit area demeanor make him a fan favourite and also respected among his peers. Ryan had this to say about the deal:

JConcepts has been with me since the beginning of my Pro racing career and we have grown together throughout the years. The team of guys at JC have my back at all times and provide a steady force behind the product we represent. Whatever is needed or promised is delivered and we win and lose together as a team. I’m fortunate to have sponsors such as JConcepts and Team Associated who have the product to keep up with the heavy demand of my racing and keep me competitive in 8 different classes of competition.

Andrea Ciurlante wins Picco memorial race

Andrea Ciurlante wins Picco memorial race

The Fiorano Modenese track hosted the first edition of the Memoria Gualtiero Picco race that attracted some of the best Italian 1/8 on-road drivers. The weekend was overshadowed by a bit of bad weather but at the end the race went flawless thanks to the great track staff. In qualifying Lamberto Collari took TQ in front of Mirko Salemi and Albert Picco. The final saw the early lead from Collari who was chased by Picco and Salemi. 10 minutes into the race Andrea Ciurlante moved his way up into third spot and shortly after Lamberto had to retire with problems. This handed Albert Picco the lead followed by Cirulante and Marco Vanni. At the 18 minute mark light drizzle stirred things up a bit as the track became very slippery forcing all drivers to change tyres. The conditions gave Andrea and his box stock RX8 the advantage he needed as he easily took the win in front of Marco Vanni and Alberto Picco. The top 5 was completed by Alberto Tedeschi ad Sara Bella.
