Rasmus B. Nielsen takes Danish 200mm title

Rasmus B. Nielsen takes Danish 200mm title

This year’s Danish National nitro on-road 200mm championship saw five rounds on four different tracks in Naestved, Odense, Greve and Hillerod. Rasmus Brunsborg Nielsen (Xray) and Claus Ryeskov (Xray) soon made their intentions clear as both fought for every point in the championship. Usually Rasmus was faster on a single lap while Claus is known for his consistent lap times and patience when lapping slower cars. Even though Claus, who took the last four titles, had won a couple of meetings in 2013 it was not enough to defeat Rasmus who is only in his second year in the hobby. Rasmus, runner-up at the Junior EC 2013, took the overall title in style leaving Claus in second place. Martin N.O. Hansen, who also had chances to win the championship at some point, ended in third place. He had been very unfortunate in the start of the year but he had the speed and skills to compete with the front runners and to defend himself against Rhys Jenkins who came in fourth.

Atsushi Hara wins C-Netic Challenge 2013

The 2013 C-Netic Challenge took place at the Wiyung International Buggy Track in Surabaya, Indonesia this past weekend. The track is probably one of the most brutal known to off-road racing with its banked and curved jump sections, lap times in the 50’s and the hard, abrasive surface that is reminiscent of the one drivers faced at the 2010 Buggy Worlds in Thailand. Beside the attendance of many Asian hot shots the “International R/C Buggy Championship” also had a good amount of foreign drivers to offer such as Kyle McBride who lead the Australian delegation, Jared Tebo from the U.S., Teemu Leino, Renaud Savoya, Joseph Quagraine and Robert Batlle who came over from Europe while Atsushi Hara and Yuichi Kanai flew over representing Japan with the latter three being current or past 1/8 Buggy World Champions underlining the international flair of the event.
