Martin Bayer wins Czech Championship Rd1

Martin Bayer wins Czech Championship Rd1

Last weekend saw the first round of the Czech 1/8th offroad Nationals in Horní Jelení. Forecast for the weekend was to be really bad, with rain all weekend long. Saturday saw the track being flooded for nitro practice as well as the full electric program. On Sunday the weather got better, only cloudy and little bit of sunshine at the end of the day. Qualification saw Martin Bayer take 3 wins out of 4 runs. A muddy track was making cleaning the cars before each run take a lot of time. Xray ace Bayer would win his semi to take the pole position for the main. He would be unchallenged in the main and took the win in front of Lukáš Zeman and Jiří Mára.

Double win for King at JBRL Rd2

Double win for King at JBRL Rd2

Paul King reports from last weekend’s JBRL Nitro round 2 held at Palm Desert RC Raceway. ‘It was a hot hard fought win in the Buggy class, and a little easier cruise in the Truggy class for Cody. These were good wins for Cody as he maintains the points lead in both classes and retains the #1 number plates. Temps exceeding 100f made the effort just a little more difficult unless you pitted in a motor home with AC. Lots of water and wet towels were the order of the day.

John Ermen wins Benelux Cup

John Ermen wins Benelux Cup

Last weekend the Benelux cup was held in Bierset, Belgium and John Erman filed this report. ‘It was a little bumpy track with medium grip and a long straight. On Saturday we had some practice to setup the new Xray RX8 2013 spec car. I had some problems with the track layout as it was the first time for me on this track. But at the end of the day I had a good setup and the car/engine combination was good to go. On Sunday the weather was perfect, around 25 degrees and sunny. We had 3 qualifications and I was able to get 2nd position tight after Robin. In the last qualification I changed from the Blitz ARX to the Blitz R18 v2 body and the car was instantly better to handle but because some back markers I was unable to improve my time any further. But the car felt allot better than in the first 2 qualifications, so I was confident for the final.
