MOD 5th & 8th Championship Series – Report

Delta RC Raceway & Hobby Shop in Antioch, California hosted a round of the MOD 5th & 8th Championship Series last weekend, attracting over 80 entries in total. In 4WD Truck Pro it was MOD’s own Matt Olson with the win in the 25-minute A-main event, leaving behind Rick Christian in 2nd some two laps down. Daniel Fry came in 3rd, top qualifier Brian Sullivan had to settle for 4th overall.

XRS Race Camp 2020 – Announcement

The XRS Race Camp 2020 will be held from the 20th to 26th of July at Latina RC Racing near Wolstyn in the Western part of Poland. The main focus of this one-of-a-kind event is to increase the RC knowledge and skills of the participants with Xray’s Italian off-road frontrunner, Marco Baruffolo being one of the camp’s instructors. The event will see the running of several 1/8th off-road wrenching, setup, and driving style workshops, as well as a good amount of socialising and a race event on Saturday and Sunday to round out the week. Vishal Singh wins at Heart of America Series Rd2

The second round of the Heart of America Series was held in Lincoln, Nebraska last weekend. In 1/8th GT it was Mugen’s Vishal Singh with the overall TQ and he also walked away with the silverware after the 20-minute A-main event, leaving behind 4th place qualifier, Patrick Werner (Xray) in 2nd, some two laps behind. In 3rd it was Ken McKenny (Serpent) who would round out the top 3 result.

Cole Ogden TQs & wins at SOS Rd2

Round 2 of the Southern Off Road Series was held S&B RC Speedway in Piedmont, South Carolina last weekend. The event attracted nearly 300 entries and in Pro Nitro Buggy it was HB Racing’s Cole Ogden with the overall TQ after winning both qualifying rounds and he also walked away with the win in the main final, leaving behind the Team Associated duo of Evan Vail in 2nd and Brandon Melton in 3rd.

Ronda Drake wins at Revelation Raceway club race

Revelation Raceway of Montclair, California held their June club race this past weekend, attracting 65 entries. In Open Nitro Buggy it was Mugen’s Adam Drake with the overall TQ, however after the 20-minute A-main event it was Adam’s wife Ronda (Mugen) with the win some 4.8 seconds in front of Xray’s Daniel Blalock. Further 19 seconds behind, David Carrasco Jr. (HB Racing) would round out the top 3 result while Adam had to settle for 4th overall following some issues in the second half or the main.

David Loppini signs with Xtreme Aerodynamics

Xtreme Aerodynamics have announced the addition of David Loppini to their factory team. The Italian on-road specialist will deck out all of this WRC Racing rides using Xtreme Aerodynamic body shells and accessories from now on.

Josh Ford doubles at Dakota RC Summer Series Rd1

Dakota RC of Jamestown, North Dakota held the opening round of their Summer Series last weekend, attracting 70 entries. In 1/8th Nitro Buggy it was Josh Ford with the overall TQ and he also came out swinging in the 20-minute A-main event, leaving behind GJ Kim in 2nd, some two laps down. Lathin Rahmann would complete the top 3 result another eleven seconds back. Over in 1/8th Nitro Truggy it was again Josh Ford with the overall TQ and win, as Roscoe finished in 2nd, some three laps behind Josh. Zander Johnson came in 3rd, another lap down.

Bobby Horan wins at ROAR Region 4 On-road Champs

The ROAR Region 4 Championship was held at The Fort track in Fort Myers, Florida last weekend. While Gianni Giorgio walked away with the win in the 1/8th Open class it was top qualifier, Bobby Horan (Capricorn) with the win in the 1/10th 200mm Sedan category. 2nd place qualifier, Jerry Guerra (Infinity) came in 2nd overall, already five laps behind as Will Carrera (Infinity) finished in 3rd overall, another three laps down.
