Thunder Alley nearing completion for ROAR Nats

Thunder Alley nearing completion for ROAR Nats

Rob Jackson over at Thunder Alley RC Raceway dropped us a mail to let us know that the track layout for the ROAR Off road 8th scale fuel nationals is almost complete. The event which starts on the 31st of May and runs through to the 5th of June is one of this year’s most anticipated events and Thunder Alley are building a track to match. They presented a very challenging layout during the warmup race back in April and the new track will be equally tricky with lots of elevation changes as well as plenty of step ups and drop downs. You can follow Red RC’s coverage of this race on our events page from day 1.

The first round of the North German Championship was held at the track of Hamburg last weekend. After the winter break 37 racers in total found their way to one of Germany’s most famous cities, 21 of them racing in the 1/8th scale class. Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning some light rain showers hit the track which resulted in difficult conditions for the qualifying. Shepherd/Novarossi driver Lars Hoppe managed to win his semi by 2 laps which secured him the pole position for the 30 minutes main in front of Jens Stark and Andreas Giesa who won the other semi. At the start of the final Hoppe could defend his lead followed by Giesa and Stark.
