Zeljaś & Pudewell win GP of Pacanòw

Last weekend saw a group of German drivers of the Race-Center-Munzig take up the invitation from their Polish friends to attend a race called the GP of Pacanòw. The race features a nice mixture of nitro an electric classes from 1/10 to 1/8 scale so visitors could get a good impression of what racing is all about. Although the track was very bumpy it featured a very nice layout with fast sweepers and tight corners and a quite long straight which made for it very demanding to set-up. In 1/8 scale Rafal Zeljas took the TQ honours with his Novarossi powered Shepherd Velox and a clear win on his home track finishing first in front of Norbert Omelanczuk and Marcin Marczyky, both also with Shepherd cars. In 1/10 200mm it was the German Capricorn LAB-C01 driver Frank Pudewell, coming from 5th position, that took the win setting the fastest lap of the race, ahead of young Polish talents Jakub Rozycki (TQ) and Filip Zaremba, both having a strong qualification and great race performance with their Kyosho chassis’.

Martin Christensen is European Champion

Top 3 finishers

Martin Christensen has won the 2010 1/10th 200mm European Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden today, 8 years after he won he won his first European title on the very same track. Giving Italian marque Capricorn their first major title for the LAB-C01 chassis the Danish driver was the fastest driver at the start of the final, getting past Wischnewski for the lead and despite battling for position with Dirk, who would later flame out, was up front when it counted. Fast work by his pit man kept him in the hunt, however his tires were gone by the end of the 45 minute final and struggled with the car especially coming onto the straight but he was always driving within his limits and could cruise home 1 lap ahead of 2nd place.

Top Qualifier Dirk Wishcnewski with pit man Bertram Kessler

Reigning European Champion Dirk Wischnewski has claimed the top qualifying spot at this year’s 1/10th 200mm European Championships in Gothenburg Sweden today. Rain fell on and off today meaning that the front runners were unable to improve their times and so with Dirk’s TQ run from round 1 he was able to take pole position and is now one step closer to retaining his title that he won in Italy last year.
