Stone & Seckold win at King Of The Valley

The 2020 King Of The Valley race took place at the Maitland Off-Road Radio Controlled Car Club of Maitland, New South Wales, Australia last weekend. Held over three days, the annual meeting is always a good one, and with many interstate entries it was going to be a tough race. The track is large in size and the dirt surface has vegetable oil applied to it, this makes for a super consistent surface with great grip, meaning the racing is always going to be close and tough. With a revised format the club chose to run a Reedy style system with heads up racing for all qualifiers and a 40-minute final for Nitro and triple 10-minute finals for Electric. Ultimately it was Xray driver, Michael Stone with the win in E-Buggy from HB Racing driver, Jackson Beale and Matt Seckold (Xray) in 3rd. The Nitro Truggy win belonged to Peter Seckold with Peter Eggleton and Brad Stafford rounding out the top 3.

While leading Gianni would make an error just a few laps later, meanwhile DJ was working his way back to the front pack. After about 13 laps DJ was back to the front and was able to keep the lead till the end. In the end is was DJ Apolaro (Capricorn) 1st, Tony Rice (Shepherd) in 2nd some three laps down and Mike Strack (Xray) in 3rd just five seconds off Tony.
