Round 8 of the popular HNMC Winter Series was held at the Herts Nitro Model Club in the UK this past weekend. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Team Associated’s Lewis Jones with the overall win some four seconds in front of HB Racing’s Simon Reeves, who took the overall TQ after the qualifiers. Xray’s Callum Niblett came in 3rd, a lap behind as Dylan Saunders and Kevin Brunsden completed the top 5 results.

The 2020 HB Racing European Race Days will be held from the 3rd to 5th of April in Boisset-St-Priest, France. Sign-up for the event, that is reserved exclusively for HB Racing 1/8th scale nitro and electric buggies, is available now. The Master of Europe is a new 1/8th off-road championship for 2020, uniting some the of the largest events on European soil. Races such as next week’s Montpellier GP, the DXR Dirt Kings, Euro Contest, Buggyland and IBR Winter Cup all count towards the overall standings, with no drop-outs, keeping the excitement up until the very last race. Following his recent departure from long-term engine sponsors Novarossi Simon Kurzbuch has announced his new partnership with O.S. Engines from Japan. The former IFMAR World Champion will power his Shepherd rides using O.S. power plants this season and he has the following to say about the deal:

The Barceloneta RC Complex of Barceloneta, Puerto Rico held the opening round of their Nitro Electric On-road Series last weekend with nearly 60 entries. In the 1/10th 200mm class it was Juan Chalas with the overall TQ from Franco Machado in 2nd. The 25-minute A-main event however brought a totally different result with 5th place qualifier, Juan Aguirre taking the win some seven laps in front of 6th place qualifier, Ivan Garcia while 3rd place qualifier, Alex Fagundo came in 3rd overall, some 40 seconds behind Ivan.

Thunder Alley Raceway of Beaumont, California played host to round 1 of the Grassroots Racing Series this past weekend. The event draw nearly 180 entries and in Open Nitro Buggy it was Mugen’s Adam Drake with the overall TQ and win. TLR’s Cole Jenson came in 2nd in the 15-minute A-main event, some two laps down as HB Racing’s Marcus Garret ended the day on the 3 spot, 5.7 seconds behind Cole. Over in Open E-Buggy it was again Adam with the overall TQ and win as Cole Jenson and Mitchell Taylor came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Round 7 of the popular HNMC Winter Series was held at the Herts Nitro Model Club this past weekend. Team Associated’s Lewis Jones was the man to beat all day as he took round TQs in all three Nitro Buggy qualifiers and he also came out on top in the 20-minute A-main event after an awesome race between him, Jamie Clancy and Simon Reeves. Later in the race Callum Niblett also was in the mix and in the end it was Team Associated’s Jamie Clancy on the runner-up spot, a second behind, as Xray’s Callum Niblett came in 3rd, only 1.7 seconds behind Jamie.

The 2020 RCRA Victorian IC On-Road State Titles were held this past weekend at the MRCCR club in Lilydale, Victoria, Australia. The race saw the running of both 1/8th and 1/10th nitro on-road classes and in 1/8th IC Track it was Infinity’s Jesse Davis with the overall TQ from Serpent’s Jeff Hamon. Jesse was able to conserve his qualifying performance in the 30-minute A-main event, leaving behind Jeff in 2nd some four laps down as Nicholas Salib (Infinity) came in 3rd to round out the podium. In 1/10th 200mm Touring Jeff Hamon would lead the way in qualifying, however the 30-minute A-main event had Jesse taking another win after Jeff ran into trouble, which meant he would have to settle for 6th place overall. Behind Jesse though it was the Infinity duo of Andrew Shapland in 2nd and Brayden Stanley in 3rd.
