Ronny Arnesen wins Norwegian EFRA GP

Ronny Arnesen wins Norwegian EFRA GP

Our partners Neo Buggy have been covering the Norwegian EFRA GP held this weekend in Skien that saw HoBao racer Joesph Quagraine take the TQ in qualifying. On finals day the rain came and put a bit of a dampener on the day but pole man Quagraine picked up where he left off at the end of qualifying and took the lead from the start up until 20 minutes in when he crashed onto his roof. A confused turn marshall stopped his cars engine, thinking something was wrong, ending the hopes of a win for the Finnish driver. Chris Svensson took over the lead from Quagraine up until 4 minutes from the end when his driveshaft broke taking him out on the spot, but he came home 4th anyway. This allowed local Norwegian driver Ronny Arnesen into the lead where he could control the rest of the race and take the win from Frode Skauen in 2nd and Steffen Culmsee in 3rd.

Great Lakes Championship Series Rd5

Great Lakes Championship Series Rd5

We received a report from round 5 of the Great Lake Championships held at Niagara RC in beautiful Welland Port, which is 40 minutes from Niagara Falls. The Niagara track offered a very technical center race area with tight 45 and 90 Degree turns with challenging rhythm sections that provides some very competitive racing to watch. The track also wound out a large straight which measured at a little over 200 feet.

Graham Alsop wins Truggy Pro Rd3

Graham Alsop wins Truggy Pro Rd3

The 3rd round of the UK Truggy Pro series took place last weekend in Ledbury near the England Wales border and with 100 participants present the weather gods were kind to the racers with the event evntually turning out to be warm and dry. Qualifying saw Kyosho Masters winner Elliot Boots take the TQ spot by 3 seconds ahead of round 2 winner and HoBao racer Graham Alsop in 2nd. After a bit of banging and scraping at the start of the main final it was Boots that emerged in 1st only to be passed 4 laps later by Xray driver Hazlewood and then also eventually by Alsop. With Boots clearly in 3rd it was left to Alsop and Hazlewood to battle it out for the win with the lead swapping a number of times and after the last pitstop it looked like Hazlewood had the win secured, but a coming together with a back marker handed Alsop the lead and despite heavy pressure he could also take the win, with Hazlewood in 2nd and Boots in 3rd.

Manuel Huber wins Austrian Champs Rd4

Manuel Huber wins Austrian Champs Rd4

Xray have a report from their team driver Manuel Huber on the recently held 4th round of the Austrian 1/10th 200mm Nationals. Qualifying saw Huber claim the TQ but with Austrian rules all drivers must race a Semi final and in this race Huber was once again quickest, winning the semi and taking the pole position for the main final. At the start of the final Manuel made a good start, but a split second loss of concentration sent him off the track and back to the back of the field, which allowed Serpent racer Daniel Tomaschko into the lead. A mistake just after 5 minutes forced Tomaschko out of the race and allowed a fast recovering Huber into the lead where he was unchallenged for the remainder of the race and could take the win by 2 laps ahead of Xray team mate Manuel Singer in 2nd and Mugen driver Michael Klausner in 3rd.
