Round 4 of the Rug Racers electric on-road indoor series was held in Ware, Herts, UK this past weekend. The event saw the running of the usual mix of classes and Billy Fletcher took the 13.5T Touring TQ by just 2.2 seconds. The finals were not to go Billy’s way, so Ashley Wiffin came through and took the overall win, with Ricky Copsey who was on the heels of Ashley in the second final who eventually took 2nd with TQ man Billy Fletcher taking 3rd place. …40+ 2WD Buggy had Shay Goodland taking the TQ and also the winning honours as Doy Schultz and Sean Maybell completed the top 3 results. In the 21.5T Sportsman Buggy category Jeff Jenkins took the TQ and win as Joe Kinsella and Mike Krich came in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Lastly in the Novice class it was Beau Rarig with the win, coming from P2 on the grid, as TQ Tristen Jenkins had to settle for 2nd overall, a lap behind. This past Saturday saw the fifth and penultimate round of the X-Factory UK Winter Series take place, with a nice break indoors away from the torrential wind and rain happening outside. A twisty, tricky and technical track greeted the racers for this round and after all four qualifiers had run it was Mark Lewis (Team Associated) who would take the TQ in the 2WD class with his round 3 time, followed by Alex Haywood (Team Associated) in 2nd who just missed out on TQ in round 4 by just over 1.5 seconds, Kevin Hunt, who was switching cars all day…

Jilles Groskamp has taken the opening A-Main at the TITC, the Infinity driver challenging his team-mate Akio Sobue before the Top Qualifier crashed out at the 3-minute mark. A much more competitive looking Groskamp, who qualified second, was able to put Sobue under pressure for the first 2-minutes of the race before things settled down and the Japanese driving managed to get himself some breathing room. …driver to complete 20-laps in the much hotter afternoon conditions, the former World Champion was over 3-seconds back despite a less than perfect 5-minutes from Sobue. Viktor Wilck completed the Top 3 for the round by just 2/10ths of a second from Jilles Groskamp while Yokomo’s Meen Vejrak enjoyed his best qualifying result so far to breaking up an all Infinity Top 6 with P5. Behind the Thai driver TITC debutant Ryosuke Yamamoto set the sixth fastest time ahead of the Yokomo’s of Nicholas Lee and Hayato Ishioka. The penultimate round of the 2019/20 Essex Winter Series took place this weekend. With storm Dennis creating some difficult weather conditions around the country, the entry count ended up being a little lower than the usual full sell-out as some people were prevented from travelling. However, the competition was still close and battles for every position were important. Round 4 of the Danish Electric On-road Nationals was held in Birkerod in north of Copenhagen last weekend with the drivers competing in Stock Open, Super Stock, Modified and Formula classes. The Open Stock category was well attended and it was Villiam Bülow with the overall TQ from Jorn Birkebaek in 2nd. The triple A-mains again saw Viliam out in front with Jorn on the runner-up spot. Dennis Hassing came in 3rd, Rasmus Poulsen in 4th and Michael Baungaard-Sorensen in 5th. With the win Villiam Bülow now also leads the U16 championship.
