The Keilor Electric Off-Road Club of Melbourne, Australia hosted the 2020 Keilor Invitational last weekend. Australia’s version of the Reedy Race, this event is held on an outdoors dirt track in the Australian summer with the Invite classes running 5 heats of 2WD and 5 heats of 4WD in addition to open classes for both modified and stock, with the winner of these getting a direct invite to the 2021 event. Round 5 of the Czech Masters Series was held in Prague last weekend, attracting a very competitive field of drivers. In the 2WD Buggy class it was Adam Izsay who was able to TQ all three rounds of qualifying with Max Götzl in 2nd and Antonia Kovalzski in 3rd. 4WD Buggy qualifying saw Max taking the overall TQ after coming out on top in Q1 and Q3 as Adam came in 2nd and Jiri Mara putting his car on the 3 spot on the grid. …A3 to secure the runner up position. Werner Schmitzer took a popular podium result from fourth on the grid. Stock 17.5 always provides close racing, but top qualifier Dominik Ruf seemed to have a slight gap to the rest of the field in lap times. But despite the speed, luck seemingly wasn’t on his side, as he rolled in both A1 and A2 whilst leading. This meant Joachim Altenhof was victorious, receiving a huge cheer from the crowd as he took his first ETS win, with Dominik relegated to second and Alexander Muller completing the top three. Round 8 of the DieHard RC Winter Off-Road Carpet Series was held at DieHard RC in Snohomish, Washington, attracting 180 entries. In the 2WD Mod Buggy class it was Weylin Rose, coming from the 2 spot on the grid, with the win in the single 6-minute A-main even, leaving behind Tyler Wilbur in 2nd, only 0.4 seconds behind. 9th place qualifier, Jonathan Cantrell came in 3rd to round out the all-Team-Associated top 3 results. 4WD Modified Buggy saw TQ Travis Schreven (Team Associated) also taking the win with a lap merging from Team Associated’s Weylin Rose in 2nd. Stephen Brown then took the second round but it was John painter who has been fast all season, managing to take the last two rounds of qualifying and giving him pole position for the final. Brown would line-up 2nd on the grid with Lewis in 3rd only separated by half a second on the count back scoring system. Jamie pickles would line-up 4th. …retained his P3 spot to round out the podium result. 13.5T Super Stock Touring saw TQ Zak Finlay taking the win some 2.6 seconds in front of Colin as 3rd place qualifier, Darren Lee came in 3rd already a lap down, rounding out an all-ARC podium. Over in the 17.5T Stock Touring class it was 3rd place qualifier, Tim Woron with the win from TQ Dave Sedgwick who would come in 2nd only some 0.3 seconds behind Tim.
