ZooRacing have introduced their new BAYBEE touring car body shell for 190mm chassis. The lid is basically an evolution of the ultra-popular DBX with a comparable roof line and design, however the slightly stretched roof reduces aerodynamic drag, resulting in higher corning speeds, something especially stock class racers will be looking for. World Champion Spencer Rivkin is in with a shout of a first Reedy Race title, the Team Associated driver adding another win to close the gap on long time points leader Ryan Maifield with just one round of racing to go at OCRC Raceway in Huntington Beach, California. Rivkin opened the penultimate round of 2WD with an easy win from pole over Alex Kosciuszek and last year’s 4WD Open Champion Ron Devoll meaning he would have to wait to see the outcome of Heat 2 to see what Maifield could do and if things would go down to the final….

It’s very much Ryan Maifield’s title to lose now with just two rounds of racing remaining at OCRC Raceway in California as the Yokomo driver put a P2 on the board bettering what his main points rivals could do in the 6th round of 2WD. Defending Reedy Race Champion Jared Tebo has opened the 2WD action at OCRC Raceway with a win over 4WD points leader Ryan Maifield. Starting from third on the grid the Tekno factory driver took his Associated to a 4-seconds win over the Yokomo driver who had come through from last on the grid. Having endured a very tough time in 4WD, ending up 18th in the points, former two time champion Dustin Evans would come to the fore in 2WD taking the Heat 3 win over the races other multiple champion Ryan Cavalieri. …he wanted and that was compounded at the first triple when Maifield landed on the TLR dropping him back to third. The battles continued with the four heavy hitters bunching together but all having bobbles. In the end, Rivkin would come out top snatching a second from Cavalieri as he flipped his Sworkz on the final dash to the loop. Ron Devoll completed the round with a win over young Japanese driver Kouki Kato to bring the tally of 4WD race winners to 11 from the 18 races. …at the end of lap 4 when he somehow managed to avoid carnage and come out in third place from where he set about chasing down the lead battle between front row starters Broc Champlin and Joona Haatanen. Mistakes from both drivers gave Maifield the lead which, despite a strong comeback from Champlin, he held to the end to guarantee no matter the outcome of Round 6 he will go into the 2WD action as the points leader. With racing now half way through the 4WD rounds at the Reedy Race of Champions, it is Ryan Maifield who leads the points after becoming only the second driver to record a repeat win in the third round of action. After a win in the opening round of racing at the Reedy Offroad Race of Champions, Ryan Cavalieri became the first driver to double up at OCRC Raceway with a win over defending champion Jared Tebo.
