Orca have announced the signing of 2013 1/10th 4WD Electric Off-Road European Champion Martin Bayer to their off-road team. Martin will race both 1/8th and 1/10th classes using Orca electronics and he had the following to say: I spend a lot of time to test speed controls, motors and batteries. I try also Orca and I was very happy with all products speed control, motor and batteries. Everything fit to me very quickly and I was very confident. …for you? Martin Hudy: Producing moulds for composite parts, especially ones as complex as bulkheads, is extremely expensive and time consuming. Over the last year we successfully used composite bulkheads which worked very well; the flex of the bulkheads generated extra traction which when combined with soft tyres made the NT1 unbeatable. However, the recent change in EFRA rules to use spec hard tyres eliminated the competitive advantage of composite bulkheads, and as such we decided for 2015 to make this significant change and go with aluminium bulkheads. Active Hobby Products have a new one-way gear set available for Tamiya’s TT-02 entry-level touring car. Containing a 42T one-way and 13T pinion gear the set makes for an under-driven front end, a setup often used by drift car racers. …there was time for a change and after Racing Experience became Picco distributor for Spain, this opportunity came a long that I could not pass on. After testing in two races new .12 Picco EMX WC platform, I’m delighted with the performance of this new engine. I think the best that I’ve ever have! The final round of the Danish Electric On-Road Nationals not only saw the title decision in the Le Mans class but also the Touring Car drivers battled for the overall championship. Organised by the Broendy RC club and run with the help of the Faxe RC club the race, that was held in the City2 shopping mall near Copenhagen, attracted a good turnout of drivers while being attractive for the many spectators as well.
