The 3rd round of the popular Silverstone Winter Series was held at their indoor astroturf track in Northampton. As ever, the Silverstone team built a challenging yet flowing track to test the full entry of drivers. In the main 2WD class, Lloyd Storey and Nathan Waters took all four rounds of qualifying, with two each. Lloyd took the overall TQ by virtue of the faster time over 5 minutes, and would line up on pole for the A final. New from SkyRC comes the Motor Analyser, a device to test and fine-tune electric brushless motors. The motor tester offers KV measurement, voltage, RPM and Amp draw tests as well as timing and hall sensor checks together with a noise level test that allows to draw conclusions on the conditions of the ball bearings. Also included is a new Stock motor firmware for the R10Pro and R10.1Pro as well as an update for the older DSB-R program box to work with the R8X speedo. Last but not least does the update include speedo setup sheets of factory Team Orion drivers such as Ty Tessman, Dakota Phend, Ryan Cavalieri, Ryan Mayfield, Frank Root and European Champion Jörn Neumann. Following Xenon’s announcement to test and possibly produce ultra-fine 84 pitch main and pinion gears for 1/12th scale pan cars, Active Hobby Products from Japan has gone a step further and now announce the release of 84 pitch gears for electric touring cars. The main gears will become available as 128T to 146T variants in 2 tooth increments while the corresponding pinions will be of 44T to 51T size.
