Round 5 of the Short Course Showdown Nation Wide Tour brought us to Phoenix Arizona to Warehouse 3. Warehouse 3 is absolutely beautiful facility. Located in a very new building in a multi-business strip mall, it has the perfect location to have a track and full RC Hobby shop. The schedule for the weekend consisted of practice on Friday, 3 Quals on Saturday, 1 Qual on Sunday and 7 minute finals for all classes with bump ups. …more than half a year of development and testing, Hobbywing announce the latest firmware release for their flagship Xerun V3.1 car series controller. The new “V3.2_140627_Beta” firmware offers improved bottom end feel with lower motor temperatures. Development has also focused on improving the brake operation when running super fast boosted programs. Brake linearity is retained whilst still providing exceptional brake power. World Champion team drivers Atsushi Hara and Andy Moore have both helped developing the new firmware, and highlight the improved feel throughout the throttle and brake profiles. Gravity RC announce that their product Liquid Gravity LGC has been chosen to be the only allowed traction compound at this year’s IFMAR 1/12th Electric On-Road World Championships. The decision was made to reduce the change of potential health and/or track deteriorating issues. The 3rd round of the Southern Portuguese 1/8th off-road regionals was held at the Evora track under changing weather conditions that put the drivers and equipment to the test. While the first semifinal could be run under dry conditions with Vasco Rodrigues taking the win, the 2nd semifinal had to be stopped and later on restarted due to rain pouring down creating some mess on the track. The Notts & Derby Off-Road club will host the HPI Challenge & Bash Party on Saturday, 2nd of August. The 3rd round of the BRCA Truggy and E8 nationals was run in Wakefield, North Yorkshire last weekend. The all dirt track is also playing host for the Nitro national championship round 3, so it was also a good time to be getting practice and test tyres in readiness for that Championship round.
