A stunning drive has put former Champion Simon Kurzbuch in the 1:8 Onroad World Championship Final in California. The opening round of the Czech Masters, a new electric off-road series in the Czech Republic, was held at the Sport Arena Prague last weekend. The schedule saw four rounds of qualifying followed by triple A-mains, however due to unfortunate tech issues in the morning, qualifying had to be cut short to three qualifiers. Young Max Götzl was in control of things in the 2WD Buggy, 4WD Buggy and Stadium Truck class as he was able to top qualify all of them. The first round of the 2019/2020 Euro Touring Series takes place this weekend in Vienna, Austria. Being held once again at the Messe Wien exhibition centre, alongside the large Vienna Model Fair, the drivers were in the spotlight as passing visitors packed the barriers around the track throughout the day. In the Modified class, defending champion Bruno Coehlo opened proceedings by taking the first qualifying round, held on Friday evening. …after some nice battles with Lukas Hoch in 2nd position while Simon Horak finished in 3rd. The top 5 was completed by Thomas Dvorszky. The FWD class saw the return of Mibosport’s own Michal Bok to the racing track. Despite some early issues he managed to take 2nd on the grid right behind Alex Mayer. The couple showed amazing battles during final heats. At the end Alex was more successful and took the victory in front of Michal and Christian Schmid. Featuring an inner belt reinforcement the tyres will not balloon or expand during use, which will give drivers maximum control to put the power down. They are made of Pro-Line’s popular soft S3 compound for lots of grip and they come including foam inserts and are usable with standard 2.2”/3.0” short course truck wheels. …Varah all separated by a few seconds. The final did not disappoint with some excellent racing. Olly Jeffries would capitalise on his pole position taking a tone to tone victory with a commanding drive. Round 5 of the 2019 Asian Onroad Championship was held at the iconic Yatabe Arena in Japan this past weekend, attracting nearly 100 entries for the multiple electric on-road classes. The premier Touring Modified class saw a couple of IFMAR World Champions in the mix with local talent. Being true professionals, the Modified Touring Cars startsed were textbook and TQ Ryousuke Yamamoto led the way. The recently launched One12 Series, a 5-race championship held in Italy and dedicated to 1/12th scale classes such as LMP Open Modified and GT12, saw its debut in the beautiful indoor track of RC Landia in Scandiano.
