Hall crowned British 4WD Champ with double win w/end

Team Associated’s Tommy Hall is the new British National 4WD Offroad Champion.  Third in last year’s title battle behind Champion Michal Orlowski and Neil Cragg, Hall wrapped up his first national title with victory number three of the class at the penultimate round of the 6 round championship.  Having kicked off his 2023 campaign with victory at the season opener at Robin Hood Raceway, a happy hunting ground for Hall who won his 2WD European Championship title there, he was again the man to beat when it returned to the East Midlands track securing the 5th round TQ and win to add the 2023 BRCA title to his CV.  Winning from Schumacher’s Ben Smith and Neil Cragg, the result completed the perfect weekend for Hall who on the Saturday came through from 4th on the grid to take the win in 2WD.  The result means the title will be decided between Hall and defending champion Cragg at the season finale at the TORCH track on August 5th.  In the meantime, Hall travels to the Netherlands to defend his EFRA European 2WD title next week as well as looking to add the 4WD title to his tally.

Full Scale Tamiya Wild One MAX

We are used to seeing scale releases of iconic race cars from the RC manufacturers especially from the likes of Tamiya, but thanks to British based The Little Car Company we are seeing the reverse of this with the release of the full size Tamiya Wild One MAX.  Based on Tamiya 1:10 2WD Buggy which was first released in 1985, and re-released in 2012, the full scale vehicle is being produced under licence from Tamiya.  Coming in at €41,000 plus taxes and shipping, it costs a little more than the RC version it is based on.  However like its 1:10 version it is electric powered with eight removable battery packs giving a total capacity of 14.4kWh and a top seed of 80kph.  Unlike the RC derivative it is also possible to register the buggy as road legal in the UK and EU.  The Tamiya Wild One MAX will be publicly unveiled and on static display at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed which runs from July 13-16th.  If you fancy getting one the order books open on Thursday and you should have it in early 2024 just in time to drive it to your local track to race your RC cars of course!!
