…this process to be automated its not at all. From the 750 degree centigrade furnace liquid alloy is taken and then individually poured into a single sand cast mould which after about 4-minutes can be opened to reveal one single crank case. This was proper ‘How is it Made’ stuff! From here we went to soul of Picco, the loosely named museum. Underground below the furnace and machines that finish off the pistons and liners, are all the old machines on which their late father Gualtiero Picco built the company. …Wood recorded a 17 lap result with North and Carr just behind. Round 3 and with the track improving all the time, this could be the round to stake a claim for the finishing positions since rain was forecast. Heat 4 and Dave Miller improved to 16 laps which moved him up the overall leader board. Heat 5 and Hicklin confirmed the track had further pace with a solid 18 lap result which was bettered by Jason Frost and Tim Wood in the top heat. Round 4 and this would obviously be the quickest round if the rain stayed away….

TQ RC Racing hosted the ROAR Region 12 regional championships with 60 competitors raced in 7 different rubber and foam tire classes at the indoor carpet track in Southern California. In Modified Sedan taking the win after a race long battle was top qualifier Fred Hubbard just a few seconds ahead of second place Peter Chuu with newcomer to the class Kyle Goodwine rounding out the top three. Modified Sedan top 3 result 1. Fred Hubbard 2. Peter Chhu 3. Kyle Goodwine Super Stock Sedan saw the the tightest battle for the lead all day and was a great race…

The 2014 FEMCA Asia nitro on-road championships will take place on the weekend of the 11th of May at the TRC Racing Track in Yuen Long, Hong Kong. The race will be run in 1/8th and 1/10th 200mm nitro classes and is also qualifying race for all Hong Kong based drivers at the 200mm World Championships. …from 28-31 August. There will be three heats about five minutes each on Sunday morning, semi finals will last 20 minutes, the main final 30 minutes. Tires are free but will be checked because tire additives are strictly forbidden. In 1/8 scale the nitro methane percentage has been reduced to 16 percent. Following round one at Dormagen, the Western German Championship will continue with round two at Bad Breisig (26/27th April), round three at Oberhausen (21/22nd June) and round four at Hamm (12/13th July).
