Trains and Lanes Hobbies held the HB Racing Race Days this past weekend, attracting over 150 entries including international HB Racing Pro drivers such as David Ronnefalk and Cole Ogden. In Pro Nitro Buggy it was David Ronnefalk with the overall TQ and he also came out on top in the 45-minute A-main event, taking the win some 40 seconds in front of 2nd place qualifier, Cole Ogden, while 3rd place qualifier, Spencer Heckert completed the top 3 podium result for a HB Racing podium lock out. …as Wesley and Rik had to settle for 2nd and 3rd. A2 then was a different affair with Wesley taking the win from Rock as Jonas Martens would complete the top 3. With a win of Rik in A3 the race brought a third winner in the 4WD Buggy A-main, meaning the win would be decided in the tie-breaker, handing Wesley the overall win from Rik in 2nd and Yolan in 3rd. Round 5 of the 2019 Speed King Tour place at the Twin Ring Honguu outdoor tarmac track in the Aichi prefecture. Unfortunately the weather forecast mentioned the chance of rain on race day, meaning some of the factory and amateur drivers opted to not attend the round. But in the end the event was held in only cloudy weather making for still a very good entry for the Touring Modified and Stock classes with the Oval category not being run due to the track layout. This year’s BeNeLux race took place in Genk, Belgium under very nice weather conditions. In the popular 1/8th IC class Daan Haling took the pole with only 0.1 seconds difference after 4 minutes to Yves Zoma in 2nd position. Renaud Velkeneers took the 3rd spot on the starting grid. …2nd, tie on points with 4th place qualifier, Bob Stellflue. USGT was TQ’d and won by Matt Allen from 3rd place qualifier, Cesar Perez and 6th place qualifier, Mike Rydwell. The Formula class saw Mike Rydwell taking the TQ and winning honours, leaving behind Chat Rott in 2nd and Rich Reybok in 3rd. Pro10 saw veteran racer, Tyree Phillips sweeping the class from Kevin Harris in 2nd and Paul Smith in 3rd. The 2019 IFMAR 1/10th Off-road World Championships are held at the Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin, Slovakia this week. The event kicked off with 2WD racing that saw a 3-horse race for the overall TQ. In the end 2015 2WD World Champion Spencer Rivkin took three round TQs for the overall from Italy’s 1/8th Nitro Buggy World Champion, Davide Ongaro. Round 5 of the Canadian Western Offroad Racing Series was held recently. In 2WD Buggy it was Navaj Walji with the win from Mark Hughes in 2nd. Paul Parks, who started 2nd on the grid, had to settle for 3rd overall after some mixed results in the triple mains. In 4WD Mod Paul Parks was able to sweep all three rounds of qualifying to secure the overall TQ. A1 started out with a 4-way battle for the lead.
